I’m fed up. I’m on my 5th JK/JL/JT with a Pentastar engine without a single failure. Not so much as a g-damned oil leak. I have a lot of room for pent up frustration and anger that could be validated by the internet forums if I just had an outlet. Hell, I even tried going EcoDiesel for a year and nothing! If Jeep (Stellantis) can’t get their act together I’ll soon be forced into an EcoBoost Ford or perhaps a Kia or Hyundai with a 4 cylinder to have something to complain about. For now I guess I’m stuck “enjoying” my current JT with its pitifully reliable engine and transmission. Thanks for nothing Jeep cares.

Sincerely yours,

Satisfied Jeep owner

13k miles on mine no engine or transmission related issues to date. Another satisfied owner. Love this truck!

Fake news… I’ve also had a WK2 and JTR with pentastars and they were bulletproof… until they’re not!!

On my fifth 3.6 Pentastar in 11 years. I also have nothing but positive things to say about this powerplant. Hundreds of thousands manufactured, and road tested.

Like any engine, there will always be a percentage with issues. The internet is a place where we hear about them.

45,000 miles and nothing but oil changes. Love it.

What’s happening with your rig? Warranty? There’s lots to your post that needs explaining. You’ve got good histories so this story needs some narrative

Mine is fine until I was towing hard up a 7% grade near the red line, then it was making scary valve noises. 500rpm below red line was OK.

This thread is going to be great at showing who here can't recognize a joke when they see one.

Nicely played!

Same. Wife's JK has 92,000. My JT just turned 50k. Not one damn thing to complain about with them. I take my frustration out on my 5.5 acres while I'm brushhogging with the tractor. TAKE THAT YOU WORTHLESS LAKE WEED!! SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GROW HERE B!TCH!! I'M YOU'RE HUCKLEBERRY!!! (opens cooler strapped on back and grabs another Shiner Bock).

I had a JK that I put 65k miles on and the only issue was an oil pressure sending unit.

A '20 Mojave that I put 20k miles on and it was perfect.

My '22 started ticking at 5k miles and continues to tick. The dealer is saying its normal and they don't hear anything. But it comes and goes and sometimes it sounds like a pygmy monkey with a mini ballpeen hammer under the hood. Definitely an issue but I am going to have to fight to have it made right and that is frustrating.

Glad your experience is good. I guess my 2/3 ain't bad?
