So far looks like I’m going from 22-23 down to 19.8 or 20 ish in the mountains.

gearing is fine it has lost a lot of Pep but if you stomp it it goes good. It can still spin tires in first.

For reference my 2020 max tow averaged 14.5 on 35s (hand calculated).

the diesel feels like a rocket in comparison.

Not a chance. The diesel doesn’t seem to care that it’s got huge tires. The engine oil temps uphill on hot days did go up almost 8 degrees due to extra load in 8th.
I climb hills in 7th with 38s that my gas gladiator had to use 4th with 35s.
Prior the Jeep would pull the hills in 8th.

That’s my experience also. Just traded my 2020 JTR for a 2022 JTRD. Both on 37s. 3.6 averaged 13mpg Fuelly, I’m averaging 21 mpg so far. Stays in 8th gear far better than the 3.6 did. So much so that I don’t think I’ll regear and if I’d kept the 3.6 a regear was definitely the next thing to do.

mpg is between 20 and 21.9.

acceleration is good obviously lost some Pep but still burns the tires in first.

overall it drives better than stock! Tires are silent or near silent too!

Comments like this make me wonder if there's truth to the rumors that after a PCM calculated break in period the air fuel tables recalibrate and you pick up more power.

At 1800 miles, even if I brake boost the truck to launch it, there's no wheelspin. Don't get me wrong, it hooks up pretty good, but I don't think my 37" Cooper MTs are that sticky.

I just feel like my diesel is missing a little pep.

i have a banks derringer and pedal monster. It helps a ton. Stock there’s about a full second power delay. Also these limit torque in first and second gear. A proper tune would help a lot!

Ah gotcha. I'm planning a GDE tune it's just not in the cards at the moment.
