I keep going back to the interview with Tim Kuniskis @Jrgunn5150 posted - I clipped a copy below of the conversation at the event. Stellantis revealed their 2030 plans that included everything from a Copperhead, a Hellcat Ram to a probable SRT Jeep Scrambler. Excitement all around. Pumping up the investors.

Yet Tim made a point - with an exclamation attached to it - that they made no mention of 392 powered Gladiator. He even make a point to kinda scold Ralph for saying "with a 392". Notice the repeated mention of '392".

IF A V8 GLADIATOR COMES AT ALL, I really think this points to a 5.7L Gladiator (not the 6.2L) and that they're not ready to announce it yet. It may be a future Convoy or 12-for-12 reveal.

Just for grins I asked Grok if the Gladiator was getting a V8 and the “answer“ was…

Yes, the Jeep Gladiator is getting a V8 engine option.

Key Details

• Engine: The 6.4-liter HEMI V8 (392 cubic inches), the same as in the Wrangler Rubicon 392. It delivers approximately 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.

• Timeline: Expected for late 2026 or as a 2027 model year offering. It was officially confirmed by Stellantis/Jeep leadership in 2025.

• Context: This comes as part of a broader Stellantis push to revive V8 power in Jeep models. The Gladiator will continue offering the standard 3.6L Pentastar V6 (285 hp), while the planned 4xe plug-in hybrid has been dropped or delayed to make room for the V8.

This is a factory option (not just an aftermarket conversion), aimed at enthusiasts wanting more towing power, off-road performance, and the classic V8 sound/feel in the midsize pickup. Pricing will likely be premium, similar to the Wrangler 392’s high cost.

For the latest official confirmation and availability, check Jeep’s website or a local dealer, as exact model-year rollout details can shift.

I then asked for a source and the response was…

Yes, here’s a reliable source for the confirmation:

Primary source: Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf’s official comments in an August 2025 media briefing, where he explicitly stated that the 6.4-liter HEMI V8 (392) will be added to the Gladiator lineup (while also extending it for the Wrangler).

Key Reporting Articles:

• The Drive (Aug 7, 2025): “Jeep Gladiator 392 V8 Confirmed” – Details the CEO’s announcement that the 6.4L HEMI V8 “will have a home at Jeep” for both Wrangler and Gladiator.

• GM Authority (Aug 9, 2025): Covers the same Stellantis announcement, noting the expansion of powertrain options for the Gladiator.

• TFLtruck and others echo this with similar coverage.

The V8 is expected as a 2027 model year option (late 2026 production). You can also check Jeep’s official site or forums like JeepGladiatorForum for ongoing discussions.

^^^ I like that we are cited as a source!!

Damn, everyone on the "if you make enough guesses you'll eventually get it right" and a dozen other similar colloquials, just going to play down this is actually a 100+ page long thread where the greatest and most common predication is that its never going to happen and the greatest and most commonly accepted narrative is to think otherwise is ignorant.. You all dont need to say anything more at this point and Im sure this'll push the thread another 10 pages along.

I will concede, I think you all are right, just not about what may or may not be coming, but rather thant Jeep doesn't know their enthusiast base. It seems if anything this thread is like a testament that while Jeep thinks their drivers want a V8 in reality they would really rather just have a keyboard in their existing Jeep.

The irony is quite literally cast iron at this point.

Good luck to those spirited in heart, I expect to see you smiling everyday if Jeep does give you that V8 you've been dreaming about, you deserve it.
The clicks pay the bills. The more controversy, the more clicks. Plus, I suspect there are several users addicted to their phones by how quickly some respond with their 2 cents regardless if its productive or credible. There are also several that appear to be highly entertained by the V8 Gladiator subject and will do whatever it takes to keep this thread alive.

You post that, and one of these child left behind wankers will just come along and be like, it's confirmed! My cousin said so, he verified it with me, and I verified it with him, so there!
You seem kind of bitter and edging politics into the discussion. How dare you!

So.

SRT is not it's own brand.

And they have not Hemi'd everything, and have specifically stated they're not, including the Grand Cherokee he called.

But, sure, nailed it.

This is why the state of politics is what it is today.

I get all this internet fluff, but the fact remains that Stellantis can sell a 2026 Dodge Durango GT Plus with a 5.7L Hemi V8 for $45K (example here). I get that it's on a dinosaur Mercedes platform. But the economies of scale are there. 2025 was the best Durango sales year in 20 years. People love the V8.

I still say if the JT gets a V8, it's the 5.7L Hemi. And I'm good with that.
