Now that I find amusing !! ?
It will happen. Watch the emerging technology from Stellantis and others.
The only thing limiting the towing capacity of my wife's JLU 4xe is the Wrangler chassis itself, not the power plant. Torque and HP beat a 5.7 hemi V8.

There is a guy in our local Jeep club that has a JL Rubicon 4xe on 37's + typical steel bumpers, winch, armor and gear. He drives it like a hybrid and does not care about all electric range/mileage. He gets 18 - 20 mpg, and loves the power & drivability. I don't know why it would not be the same in the JT. (just get rid of the powder blue accents LOL)

I've come to terms with 14.5 - 15.5 mpg. If I could simply get more power, I'd take it. If I could get more power + 3 to 4 more mpg, that would be a total bonus.

Jeep Gladiator 4xe gateway drug? 1692660286954

Filled May 19th 2023
Filled again August 18th 2023
545 miles in basically 3 months - used less than 10 gallons of gas.
Each charge up until sometime in June cost $1.18
It's a bit more in summer - around $1.77 if I recall correctly.
(each charge goes 25-26 miles)

I drove it across town to go get my JT from the shop having warranty work done.
It was a big disappointment getting back into the JT from the JLU when I hit the road.
The JLU took the the hills getting there by adding the ICE - my JT had to downshift 2 gears to make those same hills when I took it in this AM and still felt wimpy compared to my wife's JLU

. It will never be a reality never!! The price to upgrade ones home to charge in an overnight scenario is 20k + alone Not to mention the 70k for an electric vehicle .
Wow, where'd you get those numbers????
$20K for wiring? You've got to be kidding. I did it for about $600. If I had hired it done, it would have been no more than $1,000
I've talked to a lot of people who have hired it done and your 20K is waaay off base.
My son had his garage wired with a level 2 charger for about $1,000 - in Florida where prices for that sort of thing are a bit higher.
The article about the guy who ditched his Ford truck - he's full of shit on those prices. No way unless it hired the highway robbery gang. I saw what he CLAIMED he paid for the charging station setup and that's BS. No way. Or - he was taken for a ride.
You can have a whole panel replaced for about a grand. (extra if wiring is needed)
Program for off-peak charging and most houses build in the last few decades can handle the draw. You can add a sub panel if you have a small panel.
(and my son sure didn't pay any 70K for his EV. He's way too frugal)

The smart path is PHEV before EV.

You've been visiting "I hate EVs dot com" web sites and drinking their kool aid.
The truth is in the middle, not at either end. But everyone likes to argue extremes instead of being pragmatic and seeing the middle ground and solutions.

You are only ever talking pure EV - the 4xe is a PHEV.
2.25 hours to full charge.
And with the new technology coming out, it will be less, and you'll go farther.

no, we aren't ready for pure EV -but then this wasn't talking about that - it was about 4xe.
So why keep bringing up how bad EVs are?

If PHEV is the way to go then why sell EV's ?.

Well, you probably correct in the power etc.. but the cost to basically hard wire the entirety of North America to the extent that finding a charging port is like finding a gas station. Is impossible . It will never be a reality never!! The price to upgrade ones home to charge in an overnight scenario is 20k + alone Not to mention the 70k for an electric vehicle .

I feel like I’m one of the only ones who didn’t like the powder blue accents, nor driving around screaming it’s a hybrid.

I despise the blue accents. First thing I’d do is pull them off and powder coat them black.

I agree, the blue accents don't do it for me. If I had one, I would be repainting them red.

So... I really want a Rivian R1T now. If I didn't just get the GC I would for sure consider selling this for the R1T. And if I didn't need to upgrade my electric panel and didn't want to sell my place and move I would just go for it.
I drove my buddy's quad motor Rivian R1T, and after putting it in full power sport mode and hitting the onramp I dropped the hammer....where it then proceeded to melt my brain while briefly chirping all 4 tires at once on a warm, dry summer day. I rode streetbikes for years (IYKYK) and was still completely unprepared for the insanity that is a 3 second 0-60, particularly in a 7000lb pickup truck. For those who aren't aware, it's specs are 835 hp and 908 lb-ft of torque to all 4 wheels instantaneously.

Agree with previous posts. Would definitely repaint the powder blue.

I have a buddy who bailed on a Wrangler 4xe purchase because of it. He could not get past the blue. He is not the type to mess with modifying or painting his vehicle.

I wonder if cost them more sales than they realize.

If you rode streetbikes, you will really get a kick out of the electric motos. I rode the Buell electric and it was a whole new level of power between the legs. Even the Panigale was nothing compared to it. Something like 550 torques in a bike!!
