i just cannot believe they would shit can such an epic product without a serious financial impact turning into the mix for them. This thing was fully baked and then boom shit canned

it’s got to be a heap of change in the financial matrix bc the future cost burdens would have had to outweigh the development costs losses.

so lose a little money for a while, have a hero truck w developable powertrain tech And find a way to make a buck in it.

They have people who run those numbers and make those decisions. They decided it wasn't viable. A few fanatics weren't going to make a difference. Some companies are willing to lose money to make a statement, some aren't, some don't want to make the statement you want.
If you think it's viable, take the idea and run with it. In a few years we'll see the "Jorganian" competing with Rivian.

I'm not happy that the federal government gave Rivian $6.6 billion dollars. Some are predicting that Rivian will be bankrupt in 2 years. I'm pretty sure the government won't see that $6.6 billion.

With that said, we went to the grocery store on Sunday and noticed that Rivian had installed 6 chargers. Rivian just posted the news today.

It always cracks me up when people talk about 'fast' and 'powerful' 60's/early 70's musclecars were. They were slow, weak, couldn't turn, and couldn't stop for shit. Their looks is all they had going for them.

Don't forget the best is the sound they make. Everything from a Harly loping idle at 600RPM to sport bikes screaming 12K RPM and higher. Stock muscle cars to full tilt builds the roaring sounds are amazing. 1/4 mile times from the 70's to today are about 3 seconds different, tires being the major difference. Stopping is a different story

A former manager and I drove an R1T from Novi Mi to DC for a press event back in 21. Great driving, comfy, fast truck.

Wonderful experience.

At the time I thought no one would ever spend 75k on a midsized truck though. Then people proceeded to buy every up marked Gladiator, Ranger, and Tacoma they could make for the next two years or so lol.

I was hoping for it to be cheaper.

Seems they're focused on the upper end of the market, a mistake at this point in my opinion.

I had a Terra pre-ordered, but they've delayed it until 29, so I bought another Ram.

Has there been pricing updates? I know the original pricing they were promising seemed highly unlikely IMO. Also, didn’t hear about a delay till 29. Well that blows as I was interested. Is that a delay for both the truck and suv?

I have doubts if they can pull this off now given the tax credit loss and what appears to be a slowing ev market.

Delay is only for the truck, we declined to quote them based on volume, especially with the delay.

They haven't announced it, but IHS Markit shows it.

Pricing has been vague the whole time, but I would have bought a Terra at 55.

They keep showing white leather interiors and compounding costs with gas engines and range extenders though, I don't believe you'll see one on a lot below 70

Yeah, they keep showing these gorgeous interiors and talking about a low price entry point. I figure they’re showing the high end trim and quoting the ”WT” trim pricing.………I hope. I figure they will have an equivalent Chevy WT trim with rubber floors and vinyl seats and that will be the model at the $5x,xxx price tag. Guess we’ll have to wait a while to see…..

Their website says starting under $60,000. I assume that means $59,900. I also thought it mentioned a 2027 release date. That could also mean a 2028 model released in November/December of 2027.

Right? Given the status of the plant under construction December of 27 seems more likely than the start of 27.
