Who cares about the power grid....im charging off solar panels. That too is coming for everyone....fully expect new construction/buildings to be responsible for producing their own electricity. Power from the utility company will become second tear for most homes.

The grid will get upgraded anyways....they have legal obligations to provide steady power. Utilities may try to fight it but electricity is too important for the government to let it collapse.

Consider this: you have all these homes generating electricity such that they create more than they use. So these customers don't pay the electric company any money. Sooner or later, you get enough people not paying anything that the electric company can't stay in business. What then? The .gov will bail/buy them out? You just THINK your electricity is expensive now. Ultimately, it will cost more than gasoline. No one is considering the cost of making EV's predominant. I am not denying that it's coming, I am just saying it will be Painful.

Nah...it would be like the insurance industry when they bailed from florida...gov stepped in and had to provide insirance at a rate people could aford. Electricity is considered a necesity. Gov wont screw around with that....even if they have to subsidise

4XE Rubicon 4dr weighs over 800lbs more than the 4dr Rubicon 3.6. That means a Rubicon Gladiator 4XE would weigh in at 5900lbs.

Yeah, that's the million dollar question with the Gladiator 4xe: How will they handle GVWR?

If they jack GVWR up high enough to maintain current levels of payload and towing, then they will be at the same GVWR as the full size Ram 1500. I don't see that happening, but I suppose anything is possible.

On the other hand, if they don't jack GVWR up that high then the truck will lose so much payload and towing capacity that it'll become useless as a pickup truck.

I'll tell you guys what, IF Jeep announces officially that the Gladiator 4xe will show up for 2022 and IF it has a minimum of 6,000 lbs. of towing capacity, I'll order one this summer and give it a thorough review.

California already has laws requiring new contruction produce its own power....they a bellweather state...the country follow their lead.

Just curious as to why you bought a Gladiator and not a Tesla?

Cars release CO (carbon monoxide and other pollutants that can relate to smog and poor air quality.

I agree that cars do - if they have gasoline engine. Diesels do not produce CO2.
