5.7 Hemi as choice on E-Shop on Jeep.com.jpg
The 5.7 hemi (I've always said) would have been a far better option for most people than the 6.4-- I had a RAM Rebel with a 5.7 hemi and it was a beast!

V8 would cannibalize the Ram 1500 sales—very much doubt we will see it from the factory.
I’ve never really thought about this until recently and I have to disagree with the thought process.

I believe the majority of the Gladiator buyers never even thought about the Ram as an option. A Gladiator is a niche vehicle with a much different target audience than a ‘normal’ pickup. I know I never looked at a Ram pickup and barely looked at a GMC before deciding they were just completely lacking in personality. Blasé. Boring. Vanilla.

Think about the fact that if you really wanted a pickup for a pickup’s sake you’d probably never look at a Gladiator. There are too many compromises over a traditional pickup and too much specialization that a typical pickup buyer never looks at / cares about. In fact, at the price differential we would see with a Gladiator with a V8 a Ram is probably a better buy. A JL is $83k+ in 392 form and dealers are whacking the average buyer for market differentials on top of that. So figure $90k minimum..

I don’t know anyone in their right mind that needs a pickup that would pay $90k for a Gladiator over a much less expensive Ram, or even an equivalent priced Ram. A TRX is a full sized pickup with a full crew cab and it starts at 85k. A Limited with 4wd and a long bed is starting at $66k.

I think the real reasons we aren’t seeing a 392 Gladiator is that Stellantis doesn’t think they will sell enough to make it worth their while. Citation to @ShadowsPapa for the reasoning (costs of development and certification). You can throw a dash of political (EV / PHEV) BS on that as well. And for good measure our friends called CAFE.

Sad too since I think there is a huge demand in our very odd little niche for a V8 gladiator. I know I’d trade / sell my Mojave in a heartbeat for one from Jeep and I’m working on selling a kidney for one from Rubitrux (well at least for the conversion of mine to a 392).

I wanted a truck smaller than the big Silverado I had. My need was a truck first. So I bought a JT because it fit the need for a truck, could tow and haul. I didn't want another full-size huge truck that can't turn in a parking lot and takes a lot of garage space. The JT is smaller, fits the garage better, gets better mpg than my Chevy. So it fit my needs fine (plus gave me another Jeep)

We have to keep in mind the cooling situation - yes there's a V8 in a Wrangler but did they have to make it cool to meet towing needs like they do in the JT?
They could stick a V8 in a JLU without a lot of work because all it was doing was propelling the small JLU - not tow 6,000+ pounds. No worries about cooling.

They have to account for the position of any fan or anything that moves air in these vehicles in annual reports to the EPA - the fan, amount of air it moves, where it's placed and so on.
All that for evaporative emissions - not to mention the hundreds of pages of other fun neat stuff someone gets to sit and report on every year.
Would the profit from fitting the V8 in a JT offset that? People can holler all they want about what a huge market there is for a big V8 in a JT and how they'd buy one and they'd make a killing and thousands of people would jump all over it - they are projecting their own ideas, it's not the reality out there. And the marketing experts know this.
I've participated in a lot of market research and you can know that Jeep and every other company spends a lot of money to figure out if it would sell or not. And of those who say yes, they'd jump on it, reduce that number by at least 20% if not more.

You can find them 5.7 under the 2023 models but not the 24 and now since we know for a fact you can't get a 5.7 in a 2023, the website is jacked up
You can still order the 5.7l Hemi on the Grand Cherokee Overland Edition and higher. It was indeed dropped on the other Grand Cherokees.

It looks like nothing is changing on the Gladiator until maybe 2025 it may get he Hurricane 3.0L engine then.

I think chances are slim to none of a 5.7L Hemi option...

2024 JT sales are going to be rough, with 1 engine choice + so much pressure from competition.

Maybe it’s like one of those Walmart tire deals that pays off. You should order and let us know how it goes. ?
Don't threaten me with a good time. The WM tire deal worked out for me, I may see what I can do when I get home.

Undoubtedly, I am currently getting mine ready to sell and going to go a different direction (not sure what that direction is yet).
