Went to the local Chrysler dealership to buy four replacement valve stems for some new used wheels I'm putting on the Gladiator. To my surprise, the cost of a single TPMS valve stem is $50! This is insane. I have no words. What's wrong with you, Chrysler?! LOL.

I have been quoted as much as 95.00 from a tire shop for a Fiat and 200.00 each for a Porsche. 65.00 from a dealership sounds great

I've got a set of (4) that haven't been opened. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

Sounds like they are trying to sell you the whole TPMS sensor, not just the service kit/valve stem for that price.

You can get the exact correct part from vendors who are forum members here - and sell the CORRECT exact same MOPAR part in MOPAR packaging, unopened, at decent discount. I've been buying from the forum members......... I bought a set to use in Rubicon take-offs I got - the tire shop installed them, put the wheels/tires on my truck and those TPMS devices were reading on my dash as the truck was backed out of the tire shop.
I think I paid something like 33 bucks each from Benny here - All Mopar Parts.

RIDICULOUS!!!!!
But realize I don’t think anyone is a big fan of tpsm’s. It’s a Federal mandate. So we all must comply to some degree.........

Googling that part number should get you the proper valve stem and sensor for non-rubicon gladiators.
I had a sensor die on me a couple months ago and found that part for 25$ and paid my local NTB 15 $ to replace the bad one.

$50 isn't a lot when you consider it's an entire RF sensor(or are they BT at this point??)
It's like when people bitch about the price of aftermarket upgrades. There's R&D, manufacturing, distribution, warranty precautions, and then the usual retail mark up. It's not JUST a valve stem.

That being said, yes they can be and cheaper if you shop around, but you went the the DEALERSHIP.

Buyer beware. There are life limits of the batteries. Been there and done that and bought twice. Go to a reputable tire shop (Like Discount Tire) and purchase there. Most of the time they have to be flashed anyways for the vehicle. That way you have some sort of guarantee/warranty.

I ordered a complete set of 4 TPMS's from BAM. I found out through the process that my JTR has a unique part number, so I was happy to order through a Jeep dealer. They are spendy ($150ish with shipping) but BAM's price beat everywhere else by a large margin.

Valve stems should be pennys though...

If you buy from All Mopar Parts (or even other Mopar sellers) they are genuine MOPAR parts FOR the Gladiator. (watch for the Rubicon specific ones, however)
No flashing necessary. Install and use.
Life of the battery - how's 8 years for my Chevy (they outlasted the tires!) or even 3 - 4 years (our Grand Cherokees)?
IMO, one should be facing a bad battery in the TPMS in under 2 years. If anyone with a JT has one fail - it's unique, not normal. Break - yes, fail, no.
I have never had to have one replaced.

I bough the correct MOPAR parts at discount and they were simply popped in and aired up.
The MOPAR sites, including those that are members here, sell the genuine correct parts.
No reason to buy from a dealer, no reason to not buy from an online MOPAR parts seller at decent discount. No need to flash the correct Mopar parts - they simply work.

My take - support the vendors that support us and our vehicles (and give us discounts and free shipping). Without them, we lose big-time.

They SHOULD work right out of the box, but there is a possibility That you will need to have them married to your system. My OEM TPMS for alloy spare did not read until I took it to dealer to link it to my system.
