Brand new on way home noticed cruise would not set "start/stop unavailable needs service", the auto start stop had alert icon on, next on hill was feeling pretty sluggish kinda brushed off. Once i got home wife jumped in and tried to crank it and the starter hung for like 5 seconds as it was cranking and now a service icon appeared on dash. I have an obd reader so ran that and get camshaft sensor error...I called dealership and they came got next morning loaded on flatbed and took back to service. Last update i got said think it is a ground wire issue, having to consult with Chrysler on Monday, guess i will find out more tomorrow. Needless to say a little bummed right now.

That's a real bummer. Hopefully nothing major and an easy, quick, simple fix is in your Gladiator's future.

Thanks for sharing - but I'm bummed for you.

A very good reminder to myself that there may be speed bumps like this in my future.

hang in there.

I know this is a used story, but once I drove a Honda CRV home 4 hours, sputtering, dying, barely went 30mph when i pulled off the highway. Adjusted exhaust valves ever so slightly and it ran like a top for 100,000 more miles.

Hopefully its just something small. Modern vehicles are complicated things. Hope yours is rocking again soon.

After 7 days, i just took loaner back and got my old truck back until they found me another or i found another. A few days later they called and said it was the camshaft that was the issue, by that time i already was in process of getting another. I was didn't really want to be put back in that one.

there was a problem with the cam itself, or the cam position sensor? I may be misunderstanding...you're getting an entirely different Gladiator now(even swap?) Thanks for any info. As mentioned above, I'm trying to prepare myself for any b/s like this. I can't imagine the frustration going through immediate repairs after droping this kind of money. If i wanted to deal with repair work, I'd stick to buying used cars for a fraction of the cost.
