I just ordered a rubi diesel so have been trying to learn what I can about this engine and issues.
I don't know a lot about these post 2006 diesel control systems, but Im thinking what Ide be very interested in is a LIMP MODE hack.
If the ERG throws a code, or the DEF pump has a problem it won't be long before the computer puts the truck into limp mode.
A question for all you experts out there. Is the truck going into limp mode a federal mandate? Or is it just something the manufacturer has decided to do?
I've never had a gas engine go into limp mode because the emission system threw a code, why does the diesel do this?
I don't really think I have an issue with the emission system on these things, I just wish they wouldn't go into limp mode at the slightest problem.
