Add the rear defrost control?

2021 Gladiator Sport, with soft top. I have checked and the rear defrost connection is where it should be beside the rear seat. The base model I have did not come equipped with the rear defrost control on the dash. I am guessing I can't operate the rear defrost on an add on hard top unless I can swap the center stack controls. Anyone do this already? Can it be done? Thanks in advance for any information.

I am really suprised no one answered this thread because I am in the same boat. I have a 2021 Willys Gladiator with an oem soft top. I too want to upgrade to a hard top and I do have the wiring in the rear but no defroster control on my dash or more specifically, the climate controls. I e-mailed my salesman tonight and hopefully he will have an answer. I really don't understand why the wiring is there but they didn't put install a button to activate it. Have you figured anything out on your end yet?

Not yet, Hoping Santa Claus brings me a hardtop and then I will be forced to find an answer.

From what I understand it can be done. Back in may when I was shopping for my Gladiator, a sells person was telling me a story about a dealer trade he orchestrated for a customer. He thought the customer wanted a soft top, but in reality they wanted a hard top.

We were specifically talking about the defroster, and he said they swapped the top with another unit and wires it up for the defroster. He said also said he almost lost his job over it too.

Happy New Year, did you ever hear back from your dealer about how to add the rear defrost control button for your Willy's? I have yet to see anyone talk about it on the forum.
