Hi, I searched on here to see if anyone talked about the Addax canopy. But saw very little.

I’m curious if anyone has paid their deposit and is awaiting for theirs?

Per their head sales guy, they should be shipping in February. I’ve been emailing him for the past month or two. There has been inconsistency between what he has stated vs what is on the site. Price changes, deposit amounts, production timeline and optional accessories. So, I’ve been going with his word vs what seems outdated and changing in their site.

One thing he said regarding the delay in production was related to quality checks in design to mitigate flaws prior to mass production. Hence, my guess why their prices have creeped up to what they are now vs a year ago when I first became aware of them.

I do wish they offered a side slider window like the SmartCap. For my dog on warm days. But I can slide roof open a bit to help, I guess. Also some other modular accessories that are direct fit would be nice.

Curious how they turnout….

I've been seeing them pop up in my bookface feed today. I'm curious because I've been looking for a canopy camper that you can remove the tent portion and use it s a topper.

Never heard of it, but I'm not in the camping game. The retractable roof is a very neat idea though. If I still had my truck I'd definitely buy it off someone on Marketplace in a two years.

A little over a year ago I joined their waitlist. They were advertising an early 2024 release. Then a Spring 2024 release. Then Summer 2024. Then an early 2025 release. Each time pricing going up as well. Every time I reached out to them, they wouldnt provide any further details or updates. So I gave up and went another route. It does seem like a nice product though.

I have never heard of them. I went to the site and it has some neat features, but the lines aren't right for a gladiator.

Well, suppose this is one of those different strokes for different folks deals.
Way overpriced from what I’m seeing. Also totally down to see the longevity of this roll back topper roof…. Unless there is some seriously trick magic support somewhere :|.
RTT is about 5 years behind. Just looking at the photos anyone camping in rain or snow is going to hate this after the first use (doors and lower edges of the tent).

:| anyone have a super in depth video that would show where any of these points are non-issues, I would be humbled.
Overall 😬 this would be a hard pass in my books- Jeep partnership or not….

Watched for progress on Addax, but decided I didn’t like the lines. Looks like it’s made for a Tacoma with the sloped sides. If only they would square it off to the cab. I Went with the Outlander Topper by Agri-Cover instead.

Will probably run the Datin Canvas Cage over it when the need arises.

That's one reason why I'm interested in it. Plus the retracing roof means I'm not limited on the height of my cargo. I think it's a good concept. I just hope they execute it well.

I'm curious about the roof, too. Unfortunately, the only pics and videos are on the website. They haven't had any third party reviews yet. Which is odd, as I think if they are starting to ship them in a month or two, that you'd be upping the exposure. To get orders rolling in. I have noticed that they started advertising them on social media more now. I haven't seen Jeep post anything yet, though.

I have a Fas-top Traveler on my Ram 1500. It's a soft tonneau that converts to a soft canopy. Great versatility, but wanting the hard canopy for the Mojave. Then seeing this with the retracting roof and detachable tent was really appealing to me. Versus a traditional canopy. Was considering the Smartcap prior to this.

What did you end up going with? I was all in with the Alu-cab contour love the security aspect of it but having a little second thoughts after seeing the Outlander Topper and how it just folds out of the way. Definitely price is a positive.

I put a deposit on the Addax. Then got hit with a lot of other financial things out of no where. So, I am trying to cancel my order and get deposit back. But they said it was already spent to get canopy made. So now I’m waiting for them to sell it to someone else so they can afford to give me my deposit back.

Still liking the Agri-fab Outlander? This is really a cool top and price is much better than the supertop truck topper.
