Haven't seen any discussion about this at all... At the 2024 Gladiator reveal event, they also showed a Addax pop-up Gladiator camper. Front page of their website:
https://www.addaxoverland.com/
Looks like a $4000 stainless-steel camper shell with 80% side doors and rear liftgate, with some sort of removable roof panel sections. Plus a removable, mating roof top tent ($???? price not announced) that sits close and low. Looks like a fairly normal low-profile hardshell aluminum RTT as far as I can tell. Not as many details about this: 175 lbs, 106”x59” mattress, external gas struts. They show 200W solar and a ventilation system, but it's not clear if that's included, or optional. They mention some kind of hooks so you can take it on and off easily from overhead - but I can't see how useful this would be, as basically zero garages in the world can accommodate driving in with the RTT on in the first place, and yet be able to crane it up even higher. Maybe this is for people with RV sheds, or a high vehicle bay in their 200 ft superyachts? Lift off a big tree over your driveway?
The most confusing thing is the roof panels are removable in 12" sections. Looks like the panels slide into a horizontal groove? I'm skeptical about weather- and dust-proofing. And why? Does the RTT allow interior entry, like the integrated campers from GFC, Alu-Cab, AT etc? If not - this is just an expensive and complex shell + RTT. If so - why is there zero mention of it, zero photos of it? Seems more likely you're meant to install your roof cargo racks and rails directly to the panels, then remove them, leave it open-topped, drop the RTT on, and use a ladder like any other RTT. And hope for the best with dust all over your gear in the shell.
Maybe I missed it, but I can't find anything on the web about the brand "Addax" prior to their overpriced Jeep-branded trailer. (No idea if this is legit, but one site shows the Addax trademark dates to only a couple months before that 2022 announcement)
Thoughts?
