I got a jt and my wife has a jlur. We also have 3 kids that fit in the backseat area. Wife loves her jl and I'm the same with the jt. She doesn't like driving the jt due to the wheelbase and that's fine with me. We are getting lifts and tires soon.
Thanks. That’s more good encouragement. Curious what lift and tires you’re going for on the Wrangler. Thinking about a 2” and 35s (gladiator has a 2.5 and 34s).

I'm going 3.5" with 37's and the wife is doing 2/2.5" with 35's.

We are. Though with the stimulus checks we may go jeep parts or guns. All depends on what the elected people pass.

What a coincidence. I was just hinting about a jlur when the time comes to replace the wife's beloved suby outback. She loves that car but it can't go topless. I think she likes the jtr better than our built 4runner. I love our 4runner, but will admit it is a bit sluggish compared to the jtr.

Test drove a JLUR and it was very nice.

So want to pull the trigger on this available Chief blue with every option we want, including full time 4WD. Insisting on the Rubicon for the 4.10 so we can eventually add on a Clayton lift and 35s without any thought of regearing. The joy of the Gladiator and getting off road is pulling me to Jeeps!

This one is a 2.0. Would have been happy with another 3.6; the diesel after consideration probably isn't for us. The 392 would be "OK"d if it weren't $70k. Hybrid would be great too.

Just excited.

2 Jeep, 2 engine family here- wife drives a JLU Sahara with the 2.0 Turbo e-torque, Jt Rubi pentastar for me. Honestly the diesel just isnt worth it to me. Already hearing of issues with the emissions system, especially if you live/ drive in the cold. Previous ecodiesel track record was horrendous and the added weight from the diesel can be an issue with payload etc...

Between the pentastar and the 2.0 in a Wrangler I would take the 2.0. Crazy acceleration for a Jeep and good torque, my wife averages 23mpg on 33” Grabber ATXs. She has 60k miles without a single service visit.
I agree with you on that 2.0L statement. I test drove a 2-Door JL equipped with it and was thoroughly impressed. It’s mated very well with the 8 speed auto as well.

That being said, the 3.6L is a great power plant too. I guess you can’t go wrong with either really.
