I am looking at purchasing the Borah or the salta XR but am torn on which one I like more. Both would be satin black and I would get the satin black protection ring for the Borah. I like the idea of having the added protection for banging up against rocks but I also like the looks of the salta. Help me decide and add any info from your experience or opinions that would help influence decision. Thanks

included couple pics of my jeep for reference

For the Borahs: Are you adverse to removing/installing 120 bolts when the time comes to replace your tires? (24x5 wheels).

I wouldn't trust just any shop to do this work. Even though they are not beadlocks the bolts need some amount of attention when being installed and removed. 20 ft. lbs of torque only. Don't want some generic tire shop ramming them down with an air ratchet until it won't go anymore.

I have the onyx with silver protection rings.

Good point! No I don’t have a problem with maintaining them. Can I put the protection ring on myself after I get my tires mounted?

I just dont think with my 35x11.50 it’s going to give me the stance I’m looking for. And I’m not buying 37s until I wear these down.

I had a set of Santa's on my JKU and I really liked them. They kept the tires tucked under the slightly narrower flares that I put on it. They were the dark gray metallic gloss finish and looked good with the granite crystal paint

And had i got my Gladiator a bit sooner they would be on it. But I sold thrm after the JKU was wrecked.

With that said...the Borah is a great looking wheel too

So my main thing is to be slightly different. I never saw another set of Saltas...ever. I have seen a few pics but thats it. I have seen several of the Borahs out and about...although none of them all black.

Tough choice there...both are nice...but I am going to go with the Salta.

Has anyone mounted the AEV wheel with the +25 offset/5.72 Backspacing on a Mojave with stock suspension at all with a 315/70 tire? Looking at these wheels but going to do a 1.5" Teraflex LEVEL up front with Daystar 3/4" out back. Thinking I should be good for clearance with the Level.

I have Borahs and love them. I like having the ring to take all the abuse of the rocks on the trail.

Salta looks better but I like the rock ring on the other. They do get used so it’s all up to how you use it. No serious off-roading? Form over function. Rock bashing hold onto my beer wheeling? Function over form.

Same backspace as OEM wheels. With the new wheels sticking out an inch, the inside will stay the same with a 315/12.50 tire. I’m planning on the same wheel/tire combo
