Spot on. Who are the participants in these really trying to convince.... Themselves.
On the contrary, I'm trying to wrap my head around why a stamped steel bumper in the price range of full blown custom shop work can be anything resembling a good value. If you're happy with it then you do you but I can't understand what you're getting here except a name that has grown significantly more expensive since overlanding became trendy.

Boron steel is 4x stronger than typical steel as you've hit on. It is also more corrosion resistant to things such as road salt. Is it for everyone, no, not saying it is. All I'm saying is I have yet to be disappointed by any AEV product I've had experience with.
did they make it out of that Boron steel? The price makes a lot more sense if so. Whats the weight?

While I have not received mine to confirm, they say it's 20% lighter than a comparable steel bumper.... So if it helps offset additional weight on the front end it's a bonus worth more when combined with 4x strength and corrosion resistance. At least for me.

It Boron Steel.... not the same thing as what other companies use. Which is what I see a lot of people missing the boat on. Its 4xstronger, 20% lighter (advertised) and more expensive material to work with (familiar with as a machinist). It cant be cut and welded like regular steel. Hence the stamping process which is an added expense. It's like comparing cheap Chinese import bolts to Grade8 or even Inconel hardware. To me all I see is discussing apples and oranges.... for the average consumer who just wants a bumper and things like this don't matter then as you say "you do you".

That’s the beauty of free market. We each can determine what is or isn’t a value. It’s my money to spend how I choose... even for a name if that’s how you want to see it. Either way I bought what I wanted based on my needs and research.

You are their target market. You want the best, it matters to you, and you can afford it. Nuff said.

Well for that much money I can get a RSI or other cap, or a Rack and RTT or complete lift, tires, re-gear axles and have some $$$ left or (ARB Air lockers skip tires or lift) and have $$$$ left... Being their "fully loaded" bumper base model might not be over my limit. ;) I bought one over built, engineered and priced bumper for my XJ.
They make good stuff no doubt but damn, I think they've been spending to much time in them places that have legalized weed and using it.
If the full kit bumper is around 5 K damn that's almost 1/8 of what I paid for my JT.

If you add it all up (bumper, skid plate, hoop, light brackets, winch plate etc) its not much more than the mopar one when everything is said and done.

Seems like a ridiculous price
based on what? curious if the 1800 base bumper comes with the fog lights. I like the option to mount those lights in front of the skid plate. I would prefer an option with a smaller hoop though
