You are better off with Jerry Cans, for extra fuel. Use them when you need them. Toss them in storage when not needed. Way cheaper.

2 Wavian Jerry cans 89$ each two spouts off of ebay was like 62$. When I ordered the spouts I made sure the outside diameter matched the actual pump diameter. Fits perfectly no issues. Dump in 10 gallons in less than 15 minutes. Don't bother with the plastic ones the cans come with junk.

I used fuel cans for years (decades really) and done with that

used a Titan Sidekick for a long time with success. 15 gal, cheap, simple, easy.

got it in my head to switch to a bed-mounted marine fuel tank for better space utilization with my camper setup, with a pump into a t-fitting in the stock filler line. Should never have to deal with diesel spills again.

Not personally interested in a tank that displaces the spare tire with my current setup. Could work well for others with bed space for a tire though

I use a 26 gallon fuel cell in my truck bed, gravity fills as I travel, computer doesnt care and fuel garage works fine. Search for my posts cuz the douche bags around here keep me from posting
Hey Chance, do you have more info on the external tank you added to your bed (meaning installation instructions and anything else)? I have a 14 gallon RCR tank I would like to add in my bed. It used to be in another truck and I had a switch with solenoid to pump gas into the tank via a hose. I would like to do the same thing but now have a tonneau cover so I would like to put in a gravity fed line. Any info would be a great help?

If you wait until after the first of the year, both Rock Krawler and Motobilt should be coming out with their under bed 25 gal fuel cells, slight improvement over stock in terms of gallons held.

But at what cost, I have a 26 gallon in bed tank for well under $500, I’m guessing at least $1500 or more for that setup and loose your spare tire under the truck. My tank take up far less room than my 37” spare

Use this kit, gravity feeds to the stock tank, fits in the filler neck rubber hose

RDS MFG INC 11025 Diesel Install Kit https://a.co/d/hG1hDhT
Yes this is the kit I have. I was going to run it on my F150 but there wasn't enough space between the filler neck/hose and the undercarriage of the bed. I packed it away wishing I hadn't bought it. Then I thought about putting it on my F250 7.3 Superduty but haven't gotten around to doing that. Do you know if there is enough space to put this "T" inline with the filler neck? If this is what you did, do you have a video of the installation?

So I don’t have an install video, but I do have this bookmarked:
Right around the 5:00 minute mark you get a very clear look at the arrangement of the fuel filler hose. I have plans underway for the RDS 11025 install on mine. The rollover valve that feeds into the stock filler pipe wants to be vertical and on top - it does look like there’s space just past the bend where it goes horizontal. It’s just on top of the stock tank and not very accessible except through the wheelwell liner like this. I can give more feedback in January after I do mine.

Yes that would be helpful. Did you remove that opening so you can put any sized gas nozzle into?

I haven’t yet but I will while I have it apart. Still collecting all the parts to finalize my bed-mounted aux tank install.
