Steering set up? Fusion 4X4 hands down for me. Been through Death Valley a couple times. Brutal washboard roads with fist sized rocks as well. Along with Apex quick disconnects. Jumps back on road like it never left. No complaints whatsoever.

I bit the bullit and did it a big part of steering in one shot. Based on previous experience I went with Currie’s Rock Jock High Steer pkg. Best 2G spent on the Jeep

I tried the Griffin thing but didn’t like it on the road. Made the steering too sloppy for my taste. YMMV
I definitely like Steersmarts though. Best ball joints with no slop.

Now for draglinks, I am running a Metalcloak draglink as my OEM was rattling by 30K miles and causing mild death wobble. The ends were floppy and I could jiggly them easily by hand when I removed it.

That was on a stock truck on 33s.

So I figured a one ton tie rod would hopefully be better.

The factory tie rod is showing signs of weakness at 47K now

Right.

30K miles and I could have someone shake the steering wheel and I could feel the upper link at the pitman arm clinking in my hand. It was enough to induce death wobble over certain bumps.

I could have limped 5-10K more out of it, at best.

The only explanation I can come up with are the truly awful roads here.

Like - I've driven down midwestern gravel farm roads that are of higher quality than a third of the paved rounds around here.

Mine hit 30K before it started going and I swapped it all out. Roads in GA must be extra shitty I suppose.

I got about 9,000 miles out of mine and the spindle end was loose enough for replacing

For us, the JTR Drag link and tie rod shot by 60,000 km's, so less than 40K miles for you in US, both replaced under warranty, the 22 JLU we have tie rod shot just a little more than that, must be a weak point or we bash them around a bit, maybe a bit of both

I drooled over the the Griffin but it was a bit too much at the time given I was dropping a big chunk to get the death wobble sorted at the same time within a week or so of buying the truck.

Agreed, it was a hard pill to swallow, but a local buddy had one and he said “it drives like a Cadillac, you won’t regret it”.

For OP, regarding skid: I have the Mopar steel skid and don’t have issues. Is Mojave different?
