Am I crazy to buy a Gladiator EcoD to tow my Travel Trailer?

That's where the aux electronic braking on the trailer helps. This is why it's important to have. My Gladiator handles my trailer easily and, the one time I had to hit the brakes relatively hard, all came to a stop rather quickly.
Exactly, most TT of any decent size sold in the past 2 decades come with their own brakes, just have to connect via a trailer brake controller in your tow vehicle. I have never had any issues stopping or slowing while towing my 5k TT.

Exactly, most TT of any decent size sold in the past 2 decades come with their own brakes, just have to connect via a trailer brake controller in your tow vehicle. I have never had any issues stopping or slowing while towing my 5k TT.
In most states(if not all), its required by law to have functioning trailer brakes above 1500 or 3000 lbs.

My JTD is towing 4600 lbs with low drag at 65 mph and 20,5 mpg.

In both cases temperatures stay well within the limits and the truck is towing effortlessly.
