Am I missing threaded inserts on my bed?

I picked up a Mopar roll up soft Tonneau cover second hand the other day. It didn’t come with any hardware so I’m trying to track that down but in doing so and trying to determine the correct bolt size I realized it doesn’t look like I have the threaded insert assembled to the front bulkhead of my bed. I’m not near a jeep dealership where I can go check other gladiators so I was wondering if anybody could snap a picture of that area and let me know if I should be using a through bolt and nut or if I am missing the threaded insert.

Thanks for confirming that. Weird they’d go through all the trouble of cutting the sheet metal for a nutsert and install them everywhere else in the bed but not there. Hey, it’s a Jeep, doesn’t have to follow logic I guess.

Ffs just went to install my tonneau cover and same thing, no thread inserts on the bulkhead. Guess I am headed to the hardware store tomorrow.

I can't get my frigign' hands in there for the nut. Looks like I need to install nutserts. Now I have to wait until Monday for the place to be open. This is so stupid. Why did Jeep stop putting them in!?

ya, I know what I have to do, just annoyed at Jeep for it. I was hoping I could get a regular nut on it as I can’t get nutserts today. Jeep sells the tonneau cover and the installation states to use the non existent threads on the bulkhead. This is what I find annoying. They should provide the nutserts going forward.

Mine was built Memorial Day weekend 2021 and it has threaded inserts in the front of the bed. I had to use them to install my Gator EFX cover.

I bought a used lowpro cover off Amazon that did not come with the inserts. I was able to install some nylock nuts between the bed and the cab and I have fairlay large hands. It was a PIA though.

Incorrect. My '21 JTR has them.

The change was made in July, ‘20. JTs manufactured after that don’t have the threaded holes.

So if anyone else is looking to do this and doesn't have rivnuts on hand I managed to do it by putting a little piece of electrical tape on the end of a nut and with a deep set socket I held the nut in place and screwed the bolt in.
