Try to get your driver’s license out there too if you don’t need it for work. They don’t expire for like 15,000 years.

Not anymore, as of 2024 iirc they changed it to only be valid for 30 years from the date you obtain/renew. Before it was until you turned 65. I left AZ in 2025. A quick sloppy google shows it's still until you're 65, but I don't trust the Ai slop.

SD is not the problem, they'll gladly take your money. The problem is California as that is where you actually live and drive the vehicle. Licence plate readers at the border tell them everything along with your cell phone records.

AMW swaps are expected to be legal on the 12th of Never. A JT with and engine swap registered in another state is also not legal in California. It would be easier to get a Wrangler 392 and put a JT bed on it. Smog tests are not required for the first 7 years so just buy a new JT and don't worry about its for 7 years. Then take it to another state and sell it.

This whole thread has me thinking: if you live in another state and swap your JT, what happens if you move to California? Do they force you to sell it because of CARB?

It's not that they are forcing you to sell it, you just won't be able to get it registered. So just like with anything...you can get away with it until you get caught.

The 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee - Muscle and Sport Truck

The release of an Under 8500 GVWR truck series with a factory 5.7, 6.2 even supercharged may be the best thing for those wanting to legally put together a V8 Gladiator for the street. It would be great to see Mopar come out with crate engine packages that are 50 state legal to swap into newer chassis probably not much chance of them going through the expense for the amount they would sell though. It would still require getting a hold of the correct engine instead of the legal for non emission control vehicle disclaimer crate engines.
