Hi there everyone. I updated my phone here recently and now when I use waze or Google maps my radio gets quiet and I can't hear the navigation. I upgraded my phone to a Samsung S25 ultra.i have looked all over the internet to see what I can do but no luck on fixing it. If any one knows what I can possibly do to fix this problem I would appreciate the help

I have a Samsung S22U and I have the same issue. Asking google what time it is brings back the sound, but I just turned off the prompts from Waze and don't deal with it. The latest version seems like it's definitely not playing well with the SW on the 8.4.

No help with fixing it, but maybe confirming the same issue and its not just your phone.

Have you trued adjusting the volume? Not trying to be a smart-ass, but you can change the nav and notification volume separately from the radio volume. Next time nav starts talking, turn the volume knob.
For mine, it makes no difference. The volume side gets stuck on AA notifications, so you have to get it out of that 'mode' so that it switches back to radio/nav volume control. For whatever reason, asking the phone (GOOGLE or SIRI) a question allows that mode to switch. It just started/coincides with a recent update to AA, and haven't really looked into it much other than figuring out that a notification causes it and voice prompt temporarily fixes it. I will have to try rebooting the head unit to see what effect that has.

Not sure if I understand your problem. Are you saying the radio volume is fine, but just cant hear any Google navigation prompts, or are you saying when Waze/Maps is in use, there is no radio volume control either?

In case the problem is the former, I found that Waze/Maps navigation volume control is only active when Google is speaking, so if the navigation volume gets muted or turned down during a speaking event, you cant readjust it until its actively speaking again... which is tricky to catch when you cant hear the navigation prompts at all. When Google is giving navigation voice prompts, the radio volume when lessen so you can hear Google over your music, so that's your window to know when to adjust the navigation volume. I hope this helps.

Yea, that's not the problem I am seeing, but definitely good advice for fixing the notification volume. I learned that the hard way right after I picked up my Jeep and they pushed an update to the HU.

So what is happening is when my phone is connected using android auto the music sounds muffled and when I try to turn up the radio it just adjust the Bluetooth not the radio. And with waze or maps I can see the route but get no audio directions from it. I know it's not the radio because when my wife uses her iPhone everything works perfectly

Sounds like maybe you disabled/muted notifications on your phone then.
No sound is enabled for notification. Maybe once an update comes out it will fix it

BINGO! I just had time to troubleshoot and I found a remedy.

It was the most recent Android Auto update that brought on this negative quirk.

Anyway, I uninstalled Android Auto on my Samsung S25 and then reinstalled an older Android Auto apk. (Version 14.6.658544-release) This remedied the issue. I have auto app updates turned off so I can keep this version of Android Auto for now.

Thanks for the help. I figured it was do to an update. I'll try to delete it and reload it and see what happens and ignore any updates

When was the last time you rebooted your phone?
I’ve jumped in the JT a couple times in the past and my music (via carplay) is all jittery. It’s really bad … (I have a video of it). I tried a bunch of stuff…but nothing worked. It was fine after I rebooted my phone.

When Android Auto is speaking, turn up the volume knob on the dash.

Wait... Adjusts the Bluetooth? As in your audio is still on Bluetooth while it's plugged in?

Been a while since I bothered hooking my phone up but I seem to recall it switching the media source. Have you tried shutting off Bluetooth before plugging it in?

No it just adjusts the Android Auto volume, not the music - but it only does this when Android Auto is using the speakers.
