Just happened, waiting next in line at gas station, my turn to move up and ‘Drive not Possible…’ created a mini panic! I was in Neutral before this for a few mins, what I usually do with automatics. I guess the nannies took over and wanted me to shift to Park first?? This is dumb! So I rowed the shifter all positions quickly, still wouldn’t budge. Finally shut off and on that works, what the heck! In the mean time had to wave some ahead, embarrassing indeed.

How dare they! These overreaches are getting way too invasive. Other times, a light will blink at me. UNREAL! When will this invasion ever end? What's next, in car audio clips sent to the government?!!!?!

It's the AutoPark system. You need to keep the brake applied, your butt firmly in the seat, and the seat belt done up. If not, you have to apply the brake, put it in park, wait a few seconds, and then shift back to drive.

I switch from drive to neutral all the time while waiting in line at the drive thru and the gas station. The foot has to stay on the brake pedal or the AutoPark kicks in.

Or you could just roll up, step on the brake, and let the ESS kick in.
Of course, this will only work on the initial stop.

In car audio is already sent to multiple "agencies" who also can now shut off your JT for good should they decide to.

Agree, there are lots on Nany's in the Truck, and they are getting real pushy!!! The worst ones are the two that control the auto shutdown and the constant-on FOB, but the tire-pressure Nany just won't shut the heck up and I can't take it anymore!!! :)

Shifting to neutral while waiting is not a normal type of function, at least in an automatic transmission. I venture to say that if you keep the truck in drive, or shift it to park and then back to drive, you won't have the issue. At least, I can tell you from my experience with the JT that I haven't had this happen once.

This got me thinking and after a quick google search, starter interrupter devices have been around a long time, an article had GM putting a device in cars in 2014 to allow police to turn them off. So as dale gribble as it sounds they probably could turn your JT off if they wanted to. I mean i am almost sure they could if i can use a website to unlock my doors. Also wondering if those weird GPS units people found from the dealers had the ability to shut the JT off if customers were delinquent? Maybe there would be laws against leaving someone without a running vehicle who knows.
