Switch in-line on the ground wire to the Push To Start button works for me.

As always....don't post specifics in the public forum. Take it to PMs.

@JAY can you make a private section that requires 1 year of membership and minimum likes/post count for threads like this? All we are doing here is leaking our methods of protecting our Jeeps.

It baffles me why people talk openly on the public internet about their methods.

The start button WAS a great idea to wire an intercept to. Not anymore since people won't stop posting about it. JFC.....

I originally employed this method. I recently did something else since members here won't STFU about it. OPSEC people.

@Vtur knows...

I don't understand the psychology.... ' I'm excited about my new anti theft measures.... I'll post about it on the public Internet! '

There are some people here who have no idea about OpSec.

1: Do not post about how you are securing your vehicle.
2: Do not post with links or instructions pointing people to where to find this information
3: Do not share what you are doing to secure your vehicle with ANYONE who isn't trusted - just being a member of a forum is not enough. If you wouldn't share your house or truck key with someone then don't share how to defeat your security.
4: When in doubt, STFU.

Anyone not following the above is actively helping thieves steal our trucks, knock it the fuck off; you're the Giraldo Rivera of theft.

Mods, can we please get a rule that all posts sharing security details will be removed? This is insane. Staying ahead of sophisticated theft rings is hard enough, now we have to deal with people actively sabotaging our efforts.

How about this. I'll go back through and delete my pictures and some content?

I've got over a dozen pm's thanking me for the info so far. Guys are scared to ask questions because of the negative comments for fear of getting flamed.

What's with the spazzing about secrecy? People are talking about a publicly available product, with extensive install instructions, troubleshooting, and videos publicly posted by the manufacture.

Wireless/switched relays on the starter/fuel pump isn't some newfangled technology or some novel idea. Switching or interrupting the ground isn't either. @Sweetums is right about opsec as an individual but as a collective talking about this isn't causing harm. None of this is stopping a motivated, experienced thief.

But @Rusty PW posting his install isn't hurting anyone other than potentially himself if targeted. Think of security as an onion, it should be done in layers. Nothing will keep you 100% safe, but the more stuff you layer on the greater the likely hood your truck won't be stolen. It's about finding your level of acceptable risk and taking the necessary level of precautions to get you there.

So....in other words. It's best not to do anything? Correct? Just let them take it? I'm wasting my money?
To me, any deterrent is better than none. Maybe, just maybe it will give enough time to avoid any theft!
Plus the fact that ring and our K9's will alert me of motion around my Gady!

Most thief's have an internal clock. Once they hit their mental alarm. They're gone. With or without the vehicle. So anything you can do to slow them down.

Questions are fine, but share answers and details privately - and only with people you know and trust.
