Been back and forth. I’ve ordered a 24 rubicon but the delivery date is now February and there is a 23 Mojave 2 hours from me that is similar optioned.

Today called dealer (mind you been watching price for months on this Mojave) and a 67,000 msrp Jeep they priced me 59,754 and 67,027 out the door. Literally told them it was 54,000 December 1st (with screen shot) and they can contact me in month or two when the 24s arrive and the price is 50k or less and we can talk.

Dealer came back 49,565 with 56,514 out the door. Feel like 18k off “msrp” was a good deal so I’m headed to MD on Wednesday to pick it up.
Exactly why I pulled the trigger

I’ll tell you what….the whole game is a pain in the ass and you have to spend a lot of time researching and looking and negotiating and calling…..the thing that really gets me is when the move they pull is about “setting an appointment” and won’t discuss numbers over the phone…who has time to drive around and spend an hour at different dealerships all the time for that song and dance

Agreed.

It is a game they have home court advantage because that is their day job they do everyday.

Average buyer should not have to put on their war paint face every time they engage a dealers just wanting straight up answers.

I decided to trade my '21 JTRD for a '23 Punk'n Mojave, and I will pick it up next week. The list on the new Mojave was $63,550 with a $15,310 discount or 24%. I would have kept my Rubicon but being a diesel and the HPFP issues they are having, I was concerned about the future repairs. Even though I had the recall performed, they have an addendum to the Owners Manual that was very one-sided that I read as shifting the burden to the owner.
Wanting to get a 2023 JTRD and this is disturbing. Hopefully 23s don’t have FP issue?

If it's new they can't sell it till the recall is fixed so you should be good but always double check to be sure.

The '21 I have has about 41,000 miles on it with plenty of opportunities for there to be shavings in the fuel lines, injectors, tank, etc. The new ones were on a stop sell and couldn't be sold until they got the new HPFP, so there would be little chance of a ,material amount of damage to the fuel system. If they would have done all the lines and injectors went they did the pump I wouldn't have had any concerns, but they just did the pump.

Yes. 30% off is a real thing right now. Not with all the dealers who are advertising it, but definitely with some. I picked up my new Rubicon last night
