Looks like it's got Shimano 105 which a good/great component set. It's the same as my Cannondale. With some aero bars added you'll be great for a Tri. I did a sprint back in 2019 and have been wanting to do more since. I really need to get back in the pool
The biking and running I think I'll be ok at but the open water point to point swimming is going to be my weakness. I'll definitely need some tips and a lot of training to master it. I'm not a bad swimmer, I got a pool at the house but I rarely get in it and just do laps. It's a jump in after a 15 mile run on a 95 degree day pool

I’m a road cyclist. I’ve always enjoyed cycling but c-spine issues took me from an upright bike to a recumbent trike about 18 years ago. Those issues have since been surgically corrected, but I’m having too much fun on the trike to ever go back to an upright bike again.

Most of my riding is local, on paved multiuse paths and roads and highways (and occasionally Interstate 70). I’m currently rehabbing after my most recent coronary artery stent placement but hope to get back to my bucket list rides next spring and summer, including Pikes Peak and Trail Ridge Road through Rocky Mountain National Park. I’ve completed three other rides from that list in the last few years: from my home in western Colorado to Moab, Utah (110 miles); Ride The Rockies tour (7 days, 537 miles, 30,369 feet of climbing); and Mount Evans [now Mount Blue Sky] (to an elevation of 14,130 feet).

I admire tri-athletes but I’ve never been a good swimmer, and osteoarthritis in both knees rules out running (my most recent X-rays show “moderately severe medial joint space narrowing,” though it’s not yet bone-on-bone — but running or jogging is still uncomfortable for me).

Mine too, I absolutely a horrible swimmer, It took me 30 minutes to go 500 meters. Legit, I was THE slowest in all races at all distances. But at least I didn't get pulled from the water. I've got that going for me at least LOL

I started riding mtb in 2012, when I was still in junior high school, and started riding bmx in 2016. Now most of the time, I choose to spend weekends at the skate park with my friends.

I'm gonna try to keep this thread going with a daily post, maybe my running workout or a training plan I'm starting. Anyone else feel free to post up your runs or biking you may be doing or any other type of exercises. I'm training for a half on Oct 21st in Black mountain and hoping to go 1:37 or better for a new PR. I did 8 miles on Saturday with a little speed work thrown in. I'm feeling pretty good about where I'm at 3 weeks out. Took Sunday and Monday off. Planning to run Tuesday thru Sunday this week. Got a hour of Base running on the schedule today.

For reference my watch keeps picking up my cadence and registering it as HR that's why it says 198 for the high. Not sure what's going on there but I'm just gonna keep going on feel. This one felt mostly on the easy side except the last mile felt about 3/4 effort on it.

Here's my run for the day. Called for a hour of Base running but since I took 2 days off I figured I'd do some speed work. Plus I didn't have time at lunch for a hour because I had to get back for a meeting.

Well figured I'd post about it. Went to Black Mountain NC to run a Half Marathon on Saturday with the intentions of going 1:37 for a new PR. Previous PR was 1:39. Ended up 1:34 48. Thanks to the great weather and extra volume on the legs during training. I had some solid miles after the 4 mile climb. My third time running this race and each year I've gotten faster.

Might as well share this here. Last month I completed a Hut Trip riding my mountain bike from Telluride, CO, to Moab, UT. Roughly 225mi / 25kft over 7 days. Highly highly recommend a trip like this once in your life if you're into MTB and backcountry at all. Lots of miles on a heavy bike though! I rode my Ripmo AF with some bags on it. The bike with the bags/coil shock/tire insert weighed 45lb and my backpack was 15lb. If I were to do it again, I'd probably pick the route that finishes in Gateway, spend the night in a hotel, then shuttle the Whole Enchilada separately so that I could ride it without all the extra weight and 3k ft of climbing beforehand. There is a sense of accomplishment having done it all with human power, but for the fun factor I'd cut it short.

Did 2 runs since the Half and legs have recovered. Now looking for a good February Marathon to try to Boston Qualify at. Need a 3:20 or under to be able to submit and around a 3:16 or 3:17 to have some buffer.

Yesterday's 5 miles and today's 5 miles.

I'll comment here that I was running but the knees started to complain so I had to stop. Later I realized it was how I was climbing into the Jeep. Too much sideways twisting or bending of the knees. Now I pay more attention and can run again.

I'm content with running our local preserve which has a gravel loop with a 40 foot elevation change. Down into the valley then back up again, in a 1.1 mile loop, but several minutes are spent climbing back up that hill. Around 13 minutes at best.

Going to get the family out on the mountain bikes in the preserves this year, I hope. I used to do a 1 hour ride mostly keeping up with the faster folks.
