And this isn't counting the "market adjustment" increases that dealers are still tacking on to (especially) electric and fuel efficient models. My post regarding the Wrangler 4xe lease referenced a market correction of +$5000 and our recent MDX search saw some dealers forcing mandatory dealer-installed "shock" alarms for $1995 to protect against thieves smashing windows. :CWL:

I'm going to say this very carefully - as an Economics undergrad, I'm hoping this inflationary period is relatively temporary as there ways we as citizens of the United States can correct internal (and external) forces that cause these inflationary periods to begin with. :movember:
Rather amazing is that around here - I'm seeing not only MSRP but a few actually saying "sale" and knocking a couple grand off.

It's hard to blame some dealers for trying to make up lost sales because there's nothing to sell. If someone really wants it, supply and demand will kick in and they'll get that market adjustment.
Anything is worth whatever a buyer and seller agree it's worth. If it doesn't sell, the buyers have spoken. If it sells, the buyers have spoken and the seller has made up for a tiny bit of what they have lost for well over a year because there's nothing to sell and they can't get stock.
Any store will go bust if they don't have product on the shelves to sell, they'll have to let people go, inflate prices for what they DO have or can get.
I saw one Wrangler with a 10K market adjustment last year - but none since.

I would imagine so, same thing happened to me when I placed my order for my 2021 back in August/September last year. I got my order in right before they cut off the 2021s and started taking orders for the 2022s. Called my salesman and asked him if I should cancel and reorder a 2022, and he told me it would be the exact same Jeep, just $5K more. Glad I kept the 2021.

Perhaps this has been covered elsewhere and I missed it, but I was browsing some new inventory my local dealer just got in and everything's looking about 10-12% higher than it was last month or so.

My 21 Mojave came with just about everything you can get on one and last Fall's sticker was about $62k.

Some of these new models are coming in with fewer options and they're stickered at $66k.

I guess with all other costs continuing to skyrocket in this economy it's not too surprising, but it's seems like a switch was flipped almost overnight.
Went to the dealership today to get my JT serviced. Was browsing vehicles for sale and saw only two JTs on the lot (Rubicon and Mojave) and each had a *$5k Market Adjustment* resulting in about $69k for each of these models with the relevant options.

Then that will be on top of increases on base and options previously outlined in this thread. So a similarly equipped 22 could be as much as $10,000 more than a 21 was.

The dealer I purchased from tried to pull the same thing with me. I got to the lot late on a Saturday night after hours and saw the “market adjustment” sticker and was furious. I got a hotel across the street and had to work from there on Sunday and didn’t go into the dealer until 3 o’clock on the Sunday. I told him after I had incurred expenses traveling to his dealer getting a hotel overnight there’s no way in hell I was gonna pay this market adjustment since they had the opportunity to tell me that on the phone the day before. I ended up driving off the lot at 10 PM Sunday night three hours after they closed or were supposed to close needless to say it was not included in my sales price and then after the guy in the one salesman on the lot we’re ready to go home.
