What recall?Rear driveshaft monoblock needs grease
Figured people on this forum would know. Drive shaft monoblock grease, is all I know. Fix is TBDWhat recall?
Dealership said it will go public in 3rd quarter. Just figured this forum would be out ahead of it and I could do some preventative maintenance. Notice will come in the mail. Didn't mean to freak anyone out. FCA sure isn't worried about itInteresting post, no recall listed on the official Chrysler/Jeep recall page. It may just be a service notice.
Soooooo, your dealer is pre-announcing a recall that FCA has not yet announced but will be announced in the 3rd quarter (which we are currently in)?Dealership said it will go public in 3rd quarter. Just figured this forum would be out ahead of it and I could do some preventative maintenance. Notice will come in the mail. Didn't mean to freak anyone out. FCA sure isn't worried about it
OK, so wtf is a "rear driveshaft monoblock" ?This will be Recall V95. Dealers are typically notified of upcoming recalls before the customer mailing begins, the notification was dated 8/30. It will probably be a certain production block affected as most likely the failures can be traced to a certain date range.
I'm assuming they are describing the carrier bearing.OK, so wtf is a "rear driveshaft monoblock" ?
I've heard it called swing bearing, carrier bearing, pillow block bearing, never heard of a "rear driveshaft monoblock"I'm assuming they are describing the carrier bearing.
Temp/Permanent fix... grease it.Dealership said it will go public in 3rd quarter. Just figured this forum would be out ahead of it and I could do some preventative maintenance. Notice will come in the mail. Didn't mean to freak anyone out. FCA sure isn't worried about it
