Rain changes everything at Windsock. If its rained in the previous 3 days to your visit, expect side slipping resulting in rear fender/taillight damage. I ran 16 on 37s, 3.5" lift with no issues but it was bone dry (a rarity). Its a fun area with plenty for every ability/risk group.

Good afternoon
Ii just did trails 51, 26, and tried 16. Trial 51 was done from bottom to top and was pretty good. I tried trail 16 for about 100 feet and backed up and out because of how muddy the trail was. My uncle was with me and we did trail 26 down to up and it is very muddy. However, we tried trail 41 and got lost to where I lost the right rear fender flair, but there was no body damage. Because we got lost, we got into an area where I buried the front of my jeep so bad we had to winch the jeep out of the mud. If you go and you manage to find the fender flair enjoy it as a gift from me.

This thread made me curious so I checked the tube and found a cool video of a Mohave and jlu that meet up and do trail 16. Looks like a fun place but it was wet when they went. Probably only 5-6 hours from me and who doesn't love Tennessee?

Trail 26 is rocky, creeky, beautiful and a ton of fun. It was pretty straightforward going up the climb (going from west to east on the map) until the very end of the trail, where there is a dirt/mud ledge that is rutted at the top and includes a pretty sharp turn around a tree rooted bank. That's where the JT bellied-out and i had to make a handful of attempts finding the line that finally worked. That's the only spot i think a stock rubicon on 33's might get hung up a bit.
I think this is the spot you are talking about. I took the high line and it worked out good. This was back in the beginning of June.

This is on 16 closer to the beginning part of the trail. 16 is rutted out really bad. I rolled a tire off the bead and took out my passenger front fender on this trail.

I love the amount of skinny pedal / full send in these clips ? this section was notably dryer when i was there. It was tougher when you were there for sure

the part i was talking about being hung up was after that right at the literal end of the trail. It was a mud bank, rutted at the top, with a hard right hand turn

but here is a short one of the section you were on when i was there. You can tell it's pretty dry with great traction, relatively.

Ahhh, yes, I know exactly where you're talking about. I have that clip somewhere as well and it was another full send. I tend to drive that way which can be good or bad. I do get it done but have broke some minor parts in doing so. I carry a spare u-joint and stub axle in my off road kit. I'll have to see if I can find that other clip.

please do - i didn't get one there, but for a non-send guy like me, there was some necessary send to get the fire turtle (as i now lovingly call my jt) up and over

Welcome to the forum. What part of Florida are you from? I am from Vero Beach but have lived in Tennessee for most of my life. I have no idea when I will be able to go to Windrock but will some day since its around 2 hours away
I'm from Lakeland in FL but in process of moving to Livingston just n
North of Cookeville but won't be there full time til after February. If your near there I'd like to find some places to ride locally

I am sad now because my uncle was doing all of the video recording and when we got home, the videos were not on his phone. I have no way to show except how dirty and muddy the jeep was.

Found the clip. It's not a good vantage point but it's definitely the right spot. I walked up the inside wall.

yep that's it - when i got to that section, it was wet and rutted at the top just enough to need some belly slide momentum to get over

Trail 26, no problem. Trail 51 doable but you got to be cautious.
Trail 16 when dry and you go from from the top of it down, taking G1 to the entrance, you should be OK, Going up, there is a big ledge near the bottom that is probably not doable. If it's wet and muddy, avoid trail 16. I have a healthy respect for trail 16 with my 2 Dr JK on 37's. I won't back away from it or any of the obstacles but I respect it. They have also graded out some of the right path at the hill climb where you have a couple of options for lines to make one easier line. (at least it was that way in October 22)

Let me add that you also have Coalmont OHV park, AOP and Coppinger Cove just outside Chattanooga and Kairos Resort near Princeton, WVA. Also The Good Evening Ranch in Canvas, WVA and The Gulches in Laurens, SC (If chasing BOH, Gulches is a BOH park). They are several hours away but offer some fine wheeling with many Gladiator friendly trails.
