Auto Start Stop w/ passenger. Odd!

May think I am losing it, but my auto start stop hasn’t worked properly since purchase but I am just going to have the dealership swap the battery out when I take it in for oil change... It actually very rarely ever worked.

but... I just noticed!

If a passenger is riding with me it works all the time. This is weird! It has worked properly the last two times I have had a passenger with me. By myself doesn’t really ever work... passenger - works great. Weird!

Maybe there's an issue with the seat sensor, and it doesn't always recognize the driver is there. There are multiple conditions that affect when ESS will activate, including engine temperature and seatbelt connection.

If the passenger is your wife, maybe you drive differently? LOL. I'm sure I do. My MPG is almost always better with my passenger........... hmmmm, should get worse, but it gets better.
