As I am learning about Jeep aux batteries online, I found this video.

Mind boggling and this makes me wonder if the engineers forgot to update the schematic or the harness maker made a mistake.
The easiest way to eliminate the problems associated with the auxiliary battery is to simply bypass it and leave it in place. This way if your vehicle is still under warranty you can easily reverse the process before taking it in for any warranty claims. Dealers love to find mods to blame issues on.

Takes about ten minutes.
1. Remove the aux ground for the main ground ground and tape it to prevent incidental grounding. Zip tie it out the way.
2. Remove fuse F42

That's it. That's all you have to do to have your Jeep using just one battery, like most vehicles on earth.
Some will argue that the Jeep's sensitive electronics are protected by the auxiliary battery.
If that's the case then I suppose other single battery vehicles simply don't use sensitive electronics, and ... what a great idea, putting all of your sensitive electronics on the reliability of a lawn mower battery!

Worst possible sources of information - youtube and even other Jeep forums. There's more bunk out there than fact.
I keep my batteries topped off using a BatteryMinder through the trailer plug. No problems.
My 2020 was doing fine at 2 years and 8 months - batteries worked like new after I did full charges and reset the IBS.

There's so much hate and misinformation "out there".
Most Jeeps will not see major issues with the aux battery - it's the very vocal few who insist everyone will because they did who make up stuff because they don't understand batteries or charging systems.

Not going to argue it - get your information from Walmart if you want. No one cares what anyone who contradicts the "common knowledge" out there thinks. Hey, they were stuck once with a dead battery, they are the real experts.

The easiest way to "eliminate the problems associated with the aux battery" is to learn there aren't that many........ is learn the facts, no need to disconnect or bypass anything if you keep the batteries up, learn to read the signs of electrical issues.

The intent of the Aux battery is to keep the computers and electronics stable during ESS events (prevent low voltage reboots). The last thing you want is all the computers rebooting when you try to restart the engine. The basic design has been used by Mercedes (and probably came from them) for over ten years. It's not something Jeep Engineers just pulled out of their ass to make life difficult for us.

Jeep does not use the highest quality batteries available. They did have issues with at least one batch of defective Aux batteries. The bad results are amplified by the internet, where everyone goes to complain.

The biggest problem is drivers that ignore the warning signs, as cryptic as they are, that there are issues with the electrical system. Then they have a battery failure and get stranded and go on the internet and blame Jeep and the Aux battery, even if it was the Main battery that failed.

I have installed TrailCam on my 2023 JTRD early this year. It has been working very well past few months but just recently it started acting up with UConnect not switching into TrailCam view. The Jeep also failed to start yesterday and upon retrying for the 3~4th time, engine started up.

I think your explanation provides some insight on the issue that I have that UConnect and CVPM not handshaking properly causing issues and that they are not intializing properly as CVPM starts with lower voltage than it should.

Anyways, I have recharged both separately and the TrailCam seems to be working fine so far...

So.. I bypassed the Aux battery and now I don't see a few things that used to be there. Also the Sirius Radio option is gone too.

May take 24 hrs for it to reset.
