The easiest way to eliminate the problems associated with the auxiliary battery is to simply bypass it and leave it in place. This way if your vehicle is still under warranty you can easily reverse the process before taking it in for any warranty claims. Dealers love to find mods to blame issues on.As I am learning about Jeep aux batteries online, I found this video.
Mind boggling and this makes me wonder if the engineers forgot to update the schematic or the harness maker made a mistake.
Worst possible sources of information - youtube and even other Jeep forums. There's more bunk out there than fact.As I am learning about Jeep aux batteries online, I found this video.

You'd think they would've added that to the manual by now.I keep my batteries topped off using a BatteryMinder through the trailer plug.
@Lunentucker Thank you for the information.... Dealers love to find mods to blame issues on.
Takes about ten minutes.
1. Remove the aux ground for the main ground ground and tape it to prevent incidental grounding. Zip tie it out the way.
2. Remove fuse F42
That's it. That's all you have to do to have your Jeep using just one battery, like most vehicles on earth.
..
No. It was the day before! It seems like some of yall started using internet yesterday. LOL
I have installed TrailCam on my 2023 JTRD early this year. It has been working very well past few months but just recently it started acting up with UConnect not switching into TrailCam view. The Jeep also failed to start yesterday and upon retrying for the 3~4th time, engine started up.The intent of the Aux battery is to keep the computers and electronics stable during ESS events (prevent low voltage reboots). The last thing you want is all the computers rebooting when you try to restart the engine. The basic design has been used by Mercedes (and probably came from them) for over ten years. It's not something Jeep Engineers just pulled out of their ass to make life difficult for us...
It’s actually Intranet! It’s located out in California. Let’s go wheelin and find it!What is "Internet"?
May take 24 hrs for it to reset.
So.. I bypassed the Aux battery and now I don't see a few things that used to be there. Also the Sirius Radio option is gone too.
LOL. I got most it back by hooking Aux battery back.May take 24 hrs for it to reset.
Yes. It does not disable ESS. Everything else is accurate. Is this you?
