Well shoot. Looks like we will not hear anything from Phlegmon. He has not been on since Nov. 2022. Would have liked to hear what they came up with.

I'm game for an option which mounts under the truck (even spare tire location), doesn't require manual siphoning...and of course compatibility with the routing of the hemi's exhaust. Probably asking too much. So for now just frequent fill ups. Range of 500 miles would be amazing and worth some $$. Not holding my breath. :)

@JTPatriot I have the LRA tank with the V6. If you have access to a lift, and can take some underbody pictures, we could probably get a halfway decent idea if that would be a possibility for you.

I'm actually curious myself, as I'm considering talking to Dakota Customs for a 5.7l swap.

I had seen those, price is attractive. compared to the other two at $1800 to just over $2000. Not as convenient as the under mount ones since you have to stop and transfer fuel. plus to me the biggest downfall is that they sit just above the side of the bed, so you can not use a bed cover with it installed.
EXACTLY my issue with it, I have a factory installed hard tonneau cover and the bed max height inside is like 15.5", that tank is 19.44" tall.

Has anyone installed a long range auxiliary fuel tank yet? Wondering how the exhaust fits or is there even enough room for the larger hemi exhaust. Have power now but range would be nice.
I’ve considered one for my Mojave, but have concerns about the weight and potential issues with the suspension.

I’ve looked into this one which appears to not interfere with the exhaust (not cheap though).

My reservation is suspension issues with my Mojave and whether some mods would be needed there to accommodate the added weight (which is why I’m running stock bumpers vs steels ones). Still researching myself and looking for feedback, but sharing the link if it helps with your search.

Thank you. Man they just keep going up in price.

Part of my issue is that I only really need it when traveling a couple times a year. So dropping that kind of money for occasional use is hard to justify.

Which leads me back to just carrying some gas cans of some sort. Just not as convenient as an auxiliary tank.

It’s not just the money the weight when driving all the rest of the time when you don’t need it, is a thing……Jack

Genright makes some aluminum tanks for TJ/LJ. They also have some fuel cells which can be used as a transfer tank. Im' pretty sure they are short enough to fit in the bed under the tonneau cover. Titan tanks also makes some 'side kick' tanks that go on the sides of the bed over the wheel well - I dont know if those sit below the bedrail or not though. My dad is going that route for his Ranger.

If you want something removable, I bet you could use the fuel cell idea from genright and come up with a way to make it easily removable. Or just leave it - an aluminum tank doesn't weight much. The LRA tank I installed weighs about 80 pounds and it is all steel so thats not much more than a child either. You'd be way heavier with your family in the Jeep. The gas is what weighs a lot. And it adds up fast.

Here is one. I'm sure there are more options
universal-20-gallon-fuel-cell

I only know about them from 10 years ago looking at tanks for my TJ. Probably going to put their safari 31.5 gal tank in the LJ this spring.

They make some high quality stuff.

here is the sidekick for the Gladiator. Much cheaper, but it sits just slightly above the bed rail. Stupid move by them no idea why they couldn't make it shorter by just an inch.

Yeah, ran across them early on. Height was a deal breaker. Like you, I do not understand why they could not have made it an inch shorter. Plus being on the opposite side, understand because of the filler hump on the drivers side but that still would have been a better option along with transferring from passenger side to drivers side fill.

Because it's a universal product made for any truck, available since at least 2015, long before the Gladiator existed: https://titanfueltanks.com/products/sidekick-tank/titan-sidekick-15-gal-portable-liquid-tank-5040015
random youtube video about it uploaded 2015

The gladiator-specific one is just the exact same tank, with an extra set of brackets to fit the Gladiator rails. Why didn't they retool the entire product line just to fit one low-volume midsize truck, well...

FWIW I have one installed on my Gladiator. I have a canopy camper, no tonneau, so the height doesn't matter for me. Works great for me but I understand the odd fit is a deal breaker for a lot of people's situation. I bought the universal version, not the Gladiator version, and made my own brackets for it ?‍♂
