I agree completely.I'm game for an option which mounts under the truck (even spare tire location), doesn't require manual siphoning...and of course compatibility with the routing of the hemi's exhaust. Probably asking too much. So for now just frequent fill ups. Range of 500 miles would be amazing and worth some $$. Not holding my breath.![]()
EXACTLY my issue with it, I have a factory installed hard tonneau cover and the bed max height inside is like 15.5", that tank is 19.44" tall.I had seen those, price is attractive. compared to the other two at $1800 to just over $2000. Not as convenient as the under mount ones since you have to stop and transfer fuel. plus to me the biggest downfall is that they sit just above the side of the bed, so you can not use a bed cover with it installed.
I’ve considered one for my Mojave, but have concerns about the weight and potential issues with the suspension.Has anyone installed a long range auxiliary fuel tank yet? Wondering how the exhaust fits or is there even enough room for the larger hemi exhaust. Have power now but range would be nice.
I’ve looked into this one which appears to not interfere with the exhaust (not cheap though).Has anyone installed a long range auxiliary fuel tank yet? Wondering how the exhaust fits or is there even enough room for the larger hemi exhaust. Have power now but range would be nice.
Thank you. Man they just keep going up in price.I’ve considered one for my Mojave, but have concerns about the weight and potential issues with the suspension.

My reservation is suspension issues with my Mojave and whether some mods would be needed there to accommodate the added weight (which is why I’m running stock bumpers vs steels ones). Still researching myself and looking for feedback, but sharing the link if it helps with your search.

Genright makes some aluminum tanks for TJ/LJ. They also have some fuel cells which can be used as a transfer tank. Im' pretty sure they are short enough to fit in the bed under the tonneau cover. Titan tanks also makes some 'side kick' tanks that go on the sides of the bed over the wheel well - I dont know if those sit below the bedrail or not though. My dad is going that route for his Ranger.Thank you. Man they just keep going up in price.
Part of my issue is that I only really need it when traveling a couple times a year. So dropping that kind of money for occasional use is hard to justify.
Which leads me back to just carrying some gas cans of some sort. Just not as convenient as an auxiliary tank.
That is interesting. Here is one. I'm sure there are more options

They make some high quality stuff. That is interesting.
Yeah, ran across them early on. Height was a deal breaker. Like you, I do not understand why they could not have made it an inch shorter. Plus being on the opposite side, understand because of the filler hump on the drivers side but that still would have been a better option along with transferring from passenger side to drivers side fill. They make some high quality stuff.
here is the sidekick for the Gladiator. Much cheaper, but it sits just slightly above the bed rail. Stupid move by them no idea why they couldn't make it shorter by just an inch.
