Bed racks with cover?

I had that same concern so I reached out to them. They told me the bolts they use have a shear strength rating of 42,000 PSI and there are two bolts per mount. They assured me they have never had an issue with the bolts not holding up.

I'm still leaning towards their set up this spring.

I’d be more worried about bending and collapsing the steel brackets than bolt shearing.

The bolt isn't the issue. The issue is all that weight is the right angle.

The Access Literider is money. They make these specifically for people with Bed Racks. You need trail rails, but it mounts inside of the bed to the trail rails and doesn’t sit on or hardly overlap with the sidewall of the truck bed at all. I have a pretty easy time using mine with my rebel rack.

Are you able to open and close the bed cover or does it just have to stay closed all the time? And did you have to remove the rebel bed rack to install the bed cover?

I already have my half rack on so I didn't think I would be able to install the literider with that attached but it sounds like that's what you did.

Well the platform only cost me $250 not including shipping, And I plan on using it to haul my Gazzel T4 plus ground tent and a luggage bag that will take up the remainder of the platform. Luggage bag for use in storing and hauling all of our sleeping bags, cots, and a bunch of other items.

Maybe I'm not familiar with how most rack systems mount but would they not work with the retractable type tonneau covers or do the way they mount overlap and interfere with each other? Seems most rack manufacturers seem to be missing an important element who wants to get to the campsite and have everything in the bed soaking wet....Or maybe I am missing something...

Thanks, what is the difference in platform height to the top of the roof?
