I’m in the process of building my own. I wanted a bed rack but wasn’t really wanting to spend a grand on one. I’m in about $120 in parts to build this one myself. I say if you have the tools and the skills, take on the adventure yourself. I also like the satisfaction after it’s done.

Likes nice so far, definitely like the price. Did you make the brackets that mount to the bed rail? Thanks

I'm loving mine, I am still working out some issues with my custom rack build, but they have a great product and customer support. They have some new items in the works to watch for too, a one piece molle panel to replace the side rails, fold down tables and other things.

Still working out gas strut and latch fitment in my limited time off.

Just installed. Bak x4s with front runner legs (tall) and a rhino rack pioneer platform. The legs are tall enough that the cover rolls all the way up. Not too sure about the weight capacity, but it’s sturdy enough for my needs. Ie: Bikes, cargo box, etc.

That’s a really great option! I have the same pioneer platform, I used the quick release rhino rack feet, but they wouldn’t clear the cover so if the rack was on I couldn’t roll it. I like this combo!

So happy I found this thread and specifically this post!

Just ordered the x4s, will be here tomorrow and been chatting with frontrunner on which legs to buy. They mentioned they have 6” legs which will be too small and the 8” ones. Speaking to another gladiator owner in a Facebook group they said the 8” ones are tall enough but angle in too far so have trouble clearing the angles piece. Does your setup unroll freely or do you need to kind of finagle it past the front legs?

How has it been holding up? I’m going to buy cross bars and thinking about attaching a Molle panel between them like this.

thanks For sharing!

I was getting excited as well, until I saw $150 for just 1 pair of legs.
Me too.... I picked up the platform and side rails. Now looking for a good way to attach to the X4S.

I am (not so patiently) awaiting the delivery of my JT Sport S. It’s primary duty will be a daily driver but secondarily for hauling around my Astronomy equipment and towing a small camper and maybe the very infrequent very mild wheeling. I often go on week long astronomy outings to remote areas away from city lights and have bring in everything with me and also haul it all out.

I originally thought a part-time softtopper like FAS-TOP would be the best solution but I wanted something with a bit more security when daily driving. I’d like to go with the Bak Revolver X4s and then cross bars to attach a cargo basket and maybe a bike rail. Has anyone used this cross bar and feet system by a company called TMS Link to Amazon Page? According the Q&As it can be mounted using T Slot hardware included.

I don’t need to worry about too much strength or weight as I won’t ever use a RTT on it, it will only be used to carry a bike, a camp kitchen table, chairs and other camping gear.

Any thoughts on the above referenced set of cross bars? Can anyone with a Bak RevolverX4s provide a measurement of how much clearance would be needed to clear the rail closest to cab?

Thanks!
-Mike

Only a few hours after having my ARE cap installed on my Gladiator, I found myself uninstalling the screen and pet mesh the cap came with, drilling up a storm into that gleaming new fiberglass and installing my DIY nylon webbing CRD (canine retention device). Works like a charm according to my 5 big dogs who can ride in back and stick out their heads to take the air without me worrying anybody might jump out. Even painted the bolts and washers flat black to preserve the No-chrome aesthetic.
