I bought mine used from a guy who bought it used. Consequently, I paid less than a grand for it. It's weather sealed as long as you apply foam tape to the panels and rubber washers to the bolts when you assemble it.
Yeah but for $2k the customer shouldn't need to buy additional foam tape and rubber washers to seal it up.

Rebel is on my shit list right now lol. I'm still waiting for the original side panels and top braces for my half rack. I got everything else, got excited to install only to find I was missing those parts. Called thinking there was a delivery mistake but was informed they ship from a different warehouse, the customer isn't informed about this nor given a tracking number because "theres no place to enter two numbers in the system", and now those parts are on back order. They were were supposed to ship this past Monday, still haven't, so now I'm SOL for the rack for MOORE and having to adjust plans for what to bring.

The rack itself does look to be well made, so I'll give them that.

That sucks. They seem really gung-ho to sell their stuff, but it's sad they don't get as excited about fulfilling the orders. I LOVE LOVE LOVE their Halo racks that mount on top of the cab and bed rack, but there is no way I'm spending $2k on a roof rack.

Speaking of sealing it up, how well does the rear door seal against the tailgate? The rear door might be the only enclosure piece I buy from them, but I'm not sure how I feel about the design and being "trapped" behind the gate.

It seals up pretty good. I'm not sure if the foam tape across the bottom of the rear door was added by a previous owner. A little water gets in around the sides of the door, but dust is definitely a bigger problem than water. I've only been offroad once, and I just sprayed it all out with a hose to get the dust out. I would not hesitate to drive a long distance in bad weather with suitcases or other delicate items in the back though. It's better suited for the elements than the Diamondback cover I used to have. I had contemplated putting my spare tire on top of it, but now I may end up having a roof rack built for it. I just wish the Halo rack that Rebel makes was not so freaking expensive.

Do you have this rack mounted with the utility rails (aka “trail rail system”)?
Which tonneau cover is that? Do you have full functionality of the cover with the rack on?
I have trail rails, but the rack is mounted on the T-Rails of the cover. Cover is the Bak Revolver X4s w/Tslot rails. Yes, the cover fully works with the rack on but depends on height. My Wife can’t roll it up reaching over the molle side panels of the rack like I can.

Perfect thread for this. For anyone shopping for the best bed rack... STAY AWAY FROM FISHBONE.
This is my rack after less than 2 years. Keep in mind I'm in Arizona- not exactly the rust belt.
I didn't notice these cracks until I removed my RTT. Can you imagine what would happen once any one of these 4/6 uprights failed completely?
Their response: 50% off a new one and no they don't want to inspect mine unless I pay to ship it there. They say this is a one-off... I say I'm just the first one or one of the first ones to notice as it's a new product.
Posting on their socials got me blocked. 😬😅

Problems like this will happen. The thing that matters is how the manufacturer responds when it does. It sounds like @fishbone doesn't care and isn't doing anything.

Exactly. I thought the correct response would be to thank me and either offer a full replacement and/or ask to have it sent to them for inspection. 2 years isn't very long for a $1,000 product.

I would just make sure that I told as many Jeep owners on as many forums, review sites, and social media groups as possible. I've actually heard that Fishbone outsources their manufacturing to China. Whether or not this is true, it may not even matter. I looked at a couple used Fishbone racks before I bought mine, and both had surface rust. I will add them to the list of vendors to not use.

That's exactly what I've been doing. If it were something that was a wear item, I wouldn't expect them to take responsibility. Considering this is clearly a design flaw and a major safety issue, I feel like it needs to be shared far and wide.

Yeah I'd tell them to eat a dick and be ready for my incoming Google review and all other reviews available. This some BS customer service. Flame them to hell

100%! I have left reviews every place I can, I started using their marketing hashtag for this type of post, and made reports with bbb and NHTSA.

Wow, if I were them, I would want to see it and know exactly what happened, whether it is a QC issue, a bad batch of materials, or a design problem. If they don´t examine it, they won´t know.

I had a Nitro bass boat years ago that I purchased new. After 5 years, it developed small cracks in the fiberglass in the transom. They inspected it and permitted a reputable boat repair shop to fix it. The fix did not work. It cracked again. They came and got the boat from my driveway in October and they asked when I would need it back in the spring. I told them April 1. They brought me a brand new boat in mid March of the next year, right to my driveway, with all my electronics and outboard moved over and properly set up. And the new boat was a new model. They said from examining mine and others, they determined there was a design flaw in the hull that showed up on the ones with the highest horsepower outboard option.

That´s how this kind of thing should be handled. Btw, I was in the last month of my 5 year hull warranty when the cracks, only an inch long, and barely visible, were discovered.

Some companies do not take pride in their products. Those are companies it is wise to avoid.

I would take this one to a fabrication shop and have them look at it and see if it is just in the finish or a problem with the frame or welds and see if they can fix it, if the company won´t help. As long as it is financially worth it versus a new rack from someone else.

Your boat manufacturer does business correctly. I had an issue with my eclick shocks valves buzzing and they sent me a loaner set while they repaired mine- all at no expense to me. We spend a lot of money on our toys so I think it's reasonable to expect a certain degree of interaction from the manufacturer.
What really ruffles my feathers is that this guy thinks I'd actually give them another penny after this $1,000 scrap metal turd failed after less than two years. I'm legit concerned there will be serious accidents in the near future caused by this defect also- the stresses caused by a RTT depend on a very secure foundation. I only found these cracks because I removed my tent. Maybe the next person will find their rack's cracks when they're trying to figure out why their RTT suddenly went airborne.
