When it comes to detailing your vehicle, one of the most frustrating and time consuming tasks is removing the bugs that accumulate on the aerodynamic design of the windshield and grille. Thanks to my girlfriend, she showed me a way that completely changed my life and thought I would share since it works so incredibly well.
It has become a new practice of mine to start with this before a get started detailing or just generally washing my vehicle weekly. I begin with wetting the area being cleaned with bugs and then grabbing a dryer sheet or two. Gently wipe over the surface with bug splatter (very little pressure is required) unless you drive through a vortex of bugs. It literally and physically takes bugs off in seconds. This has been a game changer and has become a must in my vehicle washing regime. It is a must try and had to share with everyone. Hopefully this practice helps those who get frustrated using wasted time on those stubborn bugs. Please feel free to share your feedback as well with sharing this method with family and friends.

I would also recommend Ceramic wash and/or spray (windshield as well). It makes getting the bugs off later much easier too.

I had my JTO (black) (Man, I REALLY wish that was a GTO....) ceramic coated. Hot water, Simoniz gel wash, and a squeegee do it for me.

People Work?
I think the dryer sheets work the same way the old nylons did back in the day. Just a tiny bit of abrasion.

My trick for bug guts is hydrogen peroxide. Spray it on and watch them bubble away. Used to use this trick on my bike for getting bug guts off the fairing.

I also have one of these for the windshield. Works great.

They do. That is why you have to be very light and follow instructions about soaking and wetness otherwise the sheets will leave fine scratches on your paint if you are using them on your grill.
For example, I used dryer sheets to take scratches out of interior FJ Cruiser plastic because it would basically do a mini sanding job on the plastic.
For daily driving (not long trip) bugs I check for them daily at the end of the day and they come right off.

I agree with MikeyK. Griot's Ceramic wash. Works great and last. For more protection, Meguiar's Ceramic Detailer. :like:

Will give this a shot! ... FL love bugs are brutal ....
You can say that again. A couple of weeks ago I drove from Plant City to Lakeland (about 12 miles) and in that stretch I went through about 1/2 gallon of wiper fluid. Didn't have a choice - I couldn't see through all the splattered bugs on the windshield.

Used to use a scotch pad to clean the windshield on the motorhome. Bugs on that was a bear to clean.
