On road? Pick a hub centric with good reviews.

Off road? Avoid
If you think they are a failure risk, why would you run them on road and not off road?

On road is generally higher speeds and more people around.

The frustration is that you’re telling the op and others not to use spacers off road. Good quality spacers work perfectly fine off road. Stop misleading people into spending 2k on wheels when spacers will solve their problem. If they’re installed properly and maintained properly, the likelihood of failure is almost nothing.
It’s Like talking to a brick wall. He does this all the time on here. I’m telling you. He just says whatever he thinks sounds good at the moment to try and sound intelligent. At least people with common sense like us can see through this.

Yep. This forum is supposed to be informative to those learning how to meet specific goals with their Jeeps. I shouldn’t engage members like this, but I worry that someone might take the advice at face value, and make a decision based on bad input.

Bora makes high quality spacers and been servicing the off road industry for many years. I have heard Spidertrax is good also. On most late model Jeeps you need a minimum wheel spacer depth of 1.75 inch due to the length of the lugs. However, some Jeep wheels have a recess on the back side and between the lug holes that gives additional space for the tips of the lugs and 1.5 inch wheel spacers can be used. I you go with the 1.5 be sure to check your wheels and measure to insure you have proper clearance.

In that light, there is one reason to be careful with spacers that I can think of. Depending on where you live, you might not be allowed to have them. Here in Pennsylvania, they are banned if more than .5" thick. But lots of stuff is banned in Pennsylvania.

Just about every post I see from you, I just laugh to myself. Not sure where you get ANY of your info from or if you just spout off whatever randomly pops in that pinball machine of yours. Exactly why we got into a debate previously.

I’ve had spacers on every time I’ve taken mine off-road since I’ve had it. Granted I’m not doing any major rock crawling. But I’ve been to Turkey Bay, Redbird SRA in Indiana and as of this past weekend Windrock Park which isn’t a joke(all
Of which are badge of Honor locations) and had no issues. Hit some decent ruts and drops too.
I don’t participate in any of the Jeep badges…. ?

But I fully support your comments.

I have collectively 150k miles using spacers. On road, off road, on the rocks- 37ā€ tires.

Most of my wheeling is on rocks. Have had a lot of parts break.- axles, axle tubes, lots of steering components…. Never a wheel spacer though! ???

Hubcentric is a must…. After that- I try to find made in America spacers…. Because America!

Torque to spec- just like wheels should be done.

Ha. Driving without doors is also illegal.,,,, I’ve been driving without doors since 1995 and no issues but it is technically a law on the books …. It’s also illegal to sing in a bathtub, sell a car on Sunday, 16 women cannot live in a house together, you are prohibited from being governor if you’ve ever dueled, you must cover up your car with a blanket of a team of horses approaches you on the road, and its illegal to fire a cannon, shotgun or revolver at a wedding. The Commonwealth of PA has sone crazy laws - most are ignored.
