So I just picked up the Jeep a couple months ago and will slowly be building it up.I was looking for rocksliders with a step that were frame mounted. I could not find anything I really liked that wasn’t crazy expensive and or ugly. I saw bestop but never really saw anyone that had it but decicded to try it when they went on sale for just over 500. I didn’t want to have to drill any holes or anything crazy and these fit the bill. Anyways here are pics. Don’t know how strong they are most likely won’t see many rocks. Going to mainly used for camping, big bend, beach and hidden falls eventually.

Install was pretty easy except I was by self with a tweaked back so took about double the time it would normally take. The hardest part was fishing the 2 inside frame bolt brackets (1 on each side)

Don't lean on them too hard. They're not even 1/8" thick steel.

Most of the good ones are 3/16"-1/4" thick steel.

Curious are you assuming or do you have personal experience with them? If so I’m curious to what part messed up the mount or the slider. They are boxed inside so I would be surprised if they folded to easily.

Hey how have you liked these so far? I'm worried about them coming up into the pinch weld or body on impact. Do you see that happening?

The info is right on their web page. They are less than .125 inches thick. Most of the heavy duty ones are .185 - .250 inches thick.

I will take the manufacturers word over some random reviewer. Odds are this person measured at some point where the powder coat was built up. Uh huh, you don't get to use the thickness of the powder coat, it does nothing to add to the thickness or strength of the steel.

Per this page on Bestop's site, https://www.bestop.com/products/granite-series-rock-rail-jeep-2020-2022-gladiator/ , it is 3mm thick steel. 3mm is equal to .118 inches. Which is less than 1/8" or .125". Also, there is NO way anyone can measure thickness on ALL parts since part of it is boxed in by the slider itself. No way to get a micrometer, slide rule, calibrated fingernail in there to measure.

Your ride, your money. But don't think you have good protection if you buy something like this from a company that is known for soft top items.

These are on sale for $240 on the bestop site… assuming I only do some light snow wheeling and really need these for my 2nd graders to jump in - these are an insta-buy!?

I thought so too till I bought them and couldn’t get the passenger side installed due to really bad fitment issue. Good luck.

Save your money, they liquidated them for a reason
Lots of fitment problems from those of us who purchase while on sale, and more than one account of being told to suck a lemon when bringing issues with with bestop about fitment.
