Yea, not hard, but not quite that easy. He skipped some stuff.
Here is the full install of the most current version.
There are also some comments about how attaching those cables in the beginning are not as easy as they made it look. We'll see. First decent day I'll put it on, along with the side steps so she can get it. Supposed to snow all weekend.
That one has the optional sunscreen - it's probably going to be different.
His didn't have that, neither will mine.

The instructions in the box, as simplistic as they are, also show just sitting it in place and putting in the 6 bolts. That is AFTER initial assembly of the top or deck to the rails, the cables and one. Once that's done, it's done (one time, it appears)

Of course - some videos are likely initial assembly when you first unbox it and set it up. Once it's set up, it's a lift into place and bolt it down from the looks of the directions.

There's my concern, sometimes our snow can be blown away with a leaf blower, or with a broom, other times it's so heavy it breaks trees and plugs all snow removal equipment it's so heavy.
Snow isn't an issue, my Sunrider has survived outside for 5 years. I get wind noise, but I think I had that before I installed the Sunrider.

Pleasant surprise! The Jeep branded Sunrider came all assembled. I actually did not even notice where a cable or crank rod was. Just Take it out of the box, set it up there, and six screws. Hardest part was getting my wife and a step stool for her to help me get it up into place..

This Mojave is pretty quiet inside unless it's really windy.
Will have to try the sunrider when I get a chance.

and the twill sunrider is actually quiter than the hardtop...
That has NOT been the case in my experience. To me, riding in my wife’s Jeep with the sunrider sounds like she left the back window cracked open, I don’t get that sound with the hard top at all.

that's what it sounds like with my hardtop on, sounds like I have wind coming in the seams

most people here seem to agree with you

what's crazy is that I've been on the phone with people and they notice the difference in the sunrider being quieter also, where they actually asked me if I was driving my truck...my wife and I also just drove three hours to Utah and both agreed that the sunrider was noticeably quieter...maybe I have something going on with my freedom panels or something, I'll have to pay close attention when I swap them back on in a few months...

Must be nice! I thought it was a pain in the ass to put together. The wire clip caused me all sorts of grief.

I finally dragged mine out of the back of the truck, opened the box, and yeah, it's literally ready to set in place when I'm ready for it. Nice.

Yeah, that is how mine came preassembled in a factory ordered option. Perhaps, it was and currently done that way for factory orders for customer / dealer prep convenience. As well, there would be no additional shipping cost, because the assembled unit comes boxed in the back of the ordered truck and at that time you were required to order with a tonneau cover (likely to reduce weather or theft issues).

However, it's easy to image that if someone ordered it in the aftermarket space that the mfg. may try minimize the packaging volume associated freight charges.

I watched my sales guy open the rear of the box and pull the instructions out for me so I could at least see the paper work.
From there, I just left it in the back of the truck until this week when I needed the space for big stuff.

I wanted the tonneau cover - the soft roll-up like I had on my other two JTs and it forced me to choose either the sunrider or for another 2 grand, the trail rails and 115v outlet in the back. I figured the sunrider would at least be useful, I already have rails from my other truck I'll install in this one later.

Could well be that they bundled things that way to cover the back when there was stuff back there. Stranger things have been done in the name of shipping convenience. It was sure strapped tightly into the back of the truck and the box was wrapped in blue sticky plastic to keep it dry.

I need to put mine back on now that it has warmed up. Put the panels on for the winter.
I did not get the twill one, but am happy with mine. I really don't notice it any louder, but maybe I should go for a drive first and test with my phone.

Hello, how easy is it to go full topless with a sunrider? By looking at it, can the Sunrider remain in place and just sit in folded config above the soundbar, and/or can it be removed easily for a full topless experience?

Remove sunrider, then remove top. The sunrider has a lip and seal that goes along the front edge of the main top like the freedom panels do so you can't really remove the fully top without taking the sunrider off.
