Been on the fence about this for some time now after reading this review I am leaning more towards the Softopper.

https://dirtnsmores.com/why-i-love-my-softopper/

also like how it Folds forward giving you full access to the bed.
There's yet another review that mentions water leaks. Every place I read, there are people saying that water leaks into these things. Even the Softopper website mentions using seam sealer to keep water out. What's the point of buying a $900 bed cover that leaks?

The concept of a soft bed topper like these two is a great concept. I just don't think either one is as good as they could be. If you look on the Bestop website, there's only 1 review for the Supertop, and it's a 1-star review. Sigh...

I did just get off the phone with a representative at Bestop. Here are some highlights:

- Black Diamond version is backordered
- Doesn't appear that many people have ordered one, so once the backordered ones are ready they should ship within 4 weeks
- Still no ETA on the twill fabric. They've got 2 of them in the "quality" section of the facility so I'm assuming they are still tweaking those.

I can say that it rained like crazy the other day and the only place that had water was the drivers side corner near the tailgate. Whats interes is that my drive way sits on a slight decline and my JT was pared nose down, so it sorta lended its self to water finding its way in near the bed.

But while driving yesterday through a terrential downpour (the kind where some "special" drivers throw on their four ways and go 10mph) I didnt get a single drop of rain in the bed. I drove for 45-50 minutes with speeds from 50-70mph.

Just a little perspective for ya from an owner that wanted to hate this thing...

Agreed. I just drove mine around for about 1000 miles on a two week trip and it stormed quite a few times. I didn't get any water in the bed. The seals seem to work pretty well so far.

I got the Black Diamond material on my Supertop for Truck 2 and also got the tonneau that goes with it in the Twill material. I prefer the Black Diamond over the twill personnaly. But I have a color matching hard freedom top and not a soft top.

It's identical to Gren71's pics up above. I have the tonneau on now (not the Supertop) with the Twill fabric. I'm trying to see if it's going to lay down nice in the corners. That's my only grip thus far but maybe with some more heat and time it will lay down better. Just installed this past weekend.

Is the twill really worth that increase?
I have their twill tonneau cover and sunrider top, but my bed cap is the vinyl. Honestly, I don't know if I would have paid that extra 50% price increase for the twill. The way I figure is that I'm only going to really have the cap in the open position when I'm using it so I'm not THAT concerned with people looking at me saying "wow that guys cap doesn't match his top".
