Thanks for the tip on this. With the cold weather in the upper midwest i grabbed the cord at napa. $21. Now to get it installed. For anyone looking it took a bit to find as you cant really see it. On the diesel here it is. Its location is an epic PIA. At least with the bulk of a jacket on i cant get my hand on it.

Good job getting a picture......I couldn't get a picture to show it.

Find a buddy with some long skinny arms. ? Im short and stubby and got it but I didn't have a big bulky coat on either.

Going to order this Monday.
Does the block heater heat the oil or coolant on this engine?
Does the OEM block heater cord come out the same place you ran it?

The coolant I believe.
not sure where the OEM cord is routed. I've read on other threads that it is typically coiled up in front of the battery from the factory, but the usual complaint seems to be it's not long enough to be accessible without opening the hood.

Thanks.

I'm going to try to route it out near the bumper and make it accessible.
I live near Memphis, TN and the truck will stay in the garage most of the time so the block heater will rarely be used, but I like gaining that option for $24.12 including tax. :like:

My 2 cents

Cranked the wheels hard left and using the above pic allowed me to see it before rootin around in there.

Ran it up into the engine bay, tied off behind the fuse box and then back down behind the inner fender liner out under the passenger side head light. Tied it off to the frame and tucked it on the hook on the inside of the bumper as mentioned before.

Might purchase a cap for it so it doesn’t corrode but otherwise good to go. ?

So besides the fact that access to the plug in spot on the engine is next to impossible to quickly reach, I noticed that the OEM cord has heat shielding while the cheepo Napa one does not. Given that and being an experienced firefighter I've backed out installing the napa block heater cord.

my block heater is on the passenger side of the block (ecodiesel) so it was a straight shot and simplest to run it out the passenger side front . if yours is the gas 3.6 i have no idea where the block heater is located on those, guessing it's on the driver side if that's where your cord was located. the cords are only like 5 feet long so there aren't many routing options unless you extend it.
On the 3.6 V6 gas engine, the chord for the engine block heater is zip tied to the inside top of the drivers side front fender. I haven't used mine yet (2021 Mojave) but I will explore a way to route it to the front bumper here shortly.

Do you have any pictures? I want to add this to mine before winter strikes!
