I found some blue light shields for KC Daylighters. I'm not really sure what blue would be used for. Other than the obvious Law Enforcement purposes of course, but these don't seem to be used for that..

Jeep Gladiator Blue light shield? What's this do? 1716477045453-oz

And if anyone has some kicking around, I'd like to grab a pair if they have any actual use...

Do you have a link for the product?

Since it is listed as a shield for blue light, my guess is that it is intended to block blue spectrum light. Without a link, it's only a guess.

Those are just shields to protect the lights. Saying they can be used with the lights on means they won't melt. The protective covers that come with most lights are intended to be removed when the lights are in use. In most locations, forward facing red and blue lights are not legal on civilian vehicles.

Try turning the fog lights on my car on with the covers on and those intense halogens will melt the covers, put big holes in them.

I think those covers would look nice on a blue JT with those lights, the round being rather retro to me.

So, the blue is simply a fashion thing? No point actual purpose? They a Blue version of KC's amber and clear shields. Part number 7204. The seem to be discontinued though. Even found em on Summit Racing and Northridge4x4... all out of stock of course. I think I'm going to email this DNA offroad and see if they really have any left. Being in Australia, shipping will be nuts I'm sure.

Some tend to think that a more blue color will be better for seeing contrast in snow. You know how white lights can essentially blind out snow and you really can't see any contrast so everything looks flat. Well the blue color is supposed to stop that and allow shadows and dark spots to appear thus helping you see the variable terrain. I think the standard Amber color does a fine job though.
