I feel you are greatly misunderstanding the situation here.
I feel YOU are greatly misunderstanding the OP’s ORIGINAL QUESTION.

He asked if there was a way to disable a feature HE did not like.

HE did not ask for a father /son talk or lesson on why it’s in place or why people think it’s in place. Or …go read your manual….or can’t you back up…or learn how to do something the right way…….or anything else that was complete opinion and not an answer to his question.

Hence why I posted what I did. Notice I did not quote anyone specific. Too many people answers questions on here with their opinions and not facts or details that pertain to the original question.

Forum boards are made for people to voice their opinions. Only makes sense that you see it. You can disagree, that is entirely your opinion as well. It goes both ways.

I agree completely. But when a question is asked and there is a 100% correct answer to it….give that answer. Not an opinion

I answered saying you can't disable it. @ACAD_Cowboy also answered that you shouldn't have to open the door in the first place. Both are correct and relevant. What's wrong with that?
IT CAN BE DISABLED. And saying someone shouldn’t have to open a door is an opinion. So you were completely wrong and his opinion was actually irrelevant to the original question.

So who's giving the father/son talk here and which were the facts you provided vesus the opinions you provided?

To quote you, the 100% correct answer is you can't normally disable it, it's a hard wired safety feature, use the mirrors and camera provided to back up.

A squealing rant about how you would be out of business then followed for reasons that don't make real sense but sound good when you say them loud enough. What would your opinion be if they were asking about how to disable their breath lock? Would it be the same if they were asking what's a good yeti mug for holding a tall boy and will it fit the console.

If you truely did care about your customers as people and not a transactional source of income you might want to inform them better or ask why and perhaps have an alternatnative option that might do what they need better. I'd rather talk someone out of dumb shit and not make a sale than have to ever answer the question " can you explain for the court..." but hey, it's the internet so who cares right?

My customers don’t come in asking how to disable auto park or other safety features. Kinda how Superchips and Z don’t advertise that feature as it’s products main ability. They come in and want a pos rc 6 inch lift and 30’s with 35’s.

Again , why I said I shut up and take their money. I don’t give them lectures or lessons.

Sooooo….back to my original point ,which I see now that you have completely forgotten, ….the OP asked a question which had an answer but many people chose to give life lessons

And no one , especially me, is yelling or even mad for that point. Very hard to tell the tone of someone through forums.

In case you don’t remember…. I never quoted any one individual. My comments were intended for everyone who gave opinions to the op’s question, rather than the answer.

I guess you’re right !!!????

In my attempt to inform people of the correct answer to the op’s question, I did drop down to many people’s level.

I tried to upload a video of the impossible but the file is too large…

Why is it that you all need to open doors to back up? Remember those mirrors? If your mirrors are angled correctly you can back up without having to open a door or even turn your head to look behind you.

But oh no, instead of learning to do it the right way, let us all now invest more money in widgets and spend countless time complaining about something designed to stop people from dying. Then when we get called out on it, claim we are all rugged individualists who don't need the man harshing our groove and big brother can go watch over someone elses shoulder. Good thing you are using the internet, probably from a mobile device otherwise that argument might hold any water.

If you are all so against progression, go out and get an old Willys pickup, you know the only real jeep truck with none of this new fangled gu'bmint mandated anything and quit yer'bitching.
Maybe they have a valid reason in some specific situation that they want the door opened while backing up?

I agree, most of the time the mirrors and backup cam should be fine, but is it necessary to go on a rant stereotyping people as unsophisitcated cavemen, and then end it with "quit yer'bitching", when that's just what you were doing during the rant?

I won't fan the flames anymore, but that came across as a little hypocritical to me. Or if you just want to point them to the other threads covering the topic, that works too.

So question, does it still do this even if you turn the doors off? The little switch between windows you're supposed to roll down if you take the doors off?
