Someone broke into my Jeep last night. Rifled thru everything, but only took the brains of my GMRS and left the mic, which renders it useless. Anyhow, they unplugged the harnesses under the dash, presumably trying to steal the Jeep? Everything seems to work, except the dash and infotainment screen turn off when I turn on the lights and the horn doesn’t work. Anyhow…does anyone know where the wires below plug into?

edit- dash lights work (they were completely turned down). Only horn doesn’t work.

Pretty sure these guys knew exactly what they were doing. Knew which fuse to pull, likely used some sort of slim Jim, turned down the dash lights to keep it dark. I think the must have got spooked before they could steal the whole thing. Didn’t take anything except for the brains of the GMRS for some reason? I think I’m lucky my Jeep is still around.

You are very fortunate that they did not get the chance to boost it.

i know it won't help now but i installed a Bolt Hood Lock. it uses your fob key. unless you have a front camera.

They looked like they are depinned wires which is even more confusing as most thieves are cutting, tapping or splicing into something than depinning a connector. What are the colors on each?

I confirmed they pulled the horn fuse.
Time to enable the alarm to go off when the hood is opened. I still don’t understand why this isn’t enabled by default. I figure they popped the hood, pulled the fuse, then broke in and started screwing with the electronics. You also might want to reverse the horns so the wires to them can’t be cut from thru the grill.

They unplugged the security module. those go to a tazer if you have one or back in the OE module up behind the dash. looks like you have the extensions so its all right there.

The wires are red and black with a 3 amp fuse in line wired.

It was weird. They were very gentle with the Jeep. They even put the fuse box cover back on.

Nothing is plugged into the extensions. I only use it if I need to plug in my JScan, but they might not have known that.

To prevent this in the future if you can’t change how you store it. Slightly unplug the MAF and set up a camera. Watch em scratch their heads on why it won’t start 😂
