The Bronco sport is an entire roof? It’s not an apples to apples comparison.
The Jeep roll cage should be even stronger then IMO

If anything the leading off-roader in the industry should be more capable of withstanding a rollover. A unibody car is intended to survive 1-2 rolls on the road, not a 400ft drop. That Wrangler just fucking folded the sport cage.

If you're in that Bronco Sport, you're in serious pain and getting airlifted but barring some crazy head impact, you have a respectable chance of being alive. If you're in that Jeep, you're a taco.

Read why it happened.

Do your homework people before you go anywhere. Its not just your life you could be putting in danger.

Isn't this the one where the girls were trying to go up the hill, got nervous how it was reacting around the switch backs... passenger gets out to help make a 3 (or like 9) point turn and care goes over the edge?

Has anyone here ran this trail before? Just how 'dangerous' is it? It seems to me the switchbacks aren't too bad, but the consequences for being even a little not careful can be deadly.

Hope they both recovery fully!
We've done it a couple times. Beginners should not do this trail. If you have a decent amount of off road experience you won't find it that bad. Just don't make careless or newbie mistakes and you'll be fine.

In this case it sounds like they drove up to the falls which is two-way. They then mistakenly drove up the part that is only one way in a downhill direction. When they realized what they had done they tried to turn around. Probably panicked a bit and went over the edge while trying to turn around. Always take your time!! Don't worry if someone else has to wait. Ask for help if you need it.

Here is a short vid in the JKU. We just did it in the JT recently as well.

Just for clarification, if anyone is interested, wrangler driver bailed before it went over the edge. Terrible thing to watch, but great reactions.

I did Black Bear Pass this summer in my 2020 stock JTR. And yes, it's very dangerous. When I got down to Telluride I was told I was insane for doing it in a truck. Ever switch back is a three point turn and there are part of the trail where the road is so eroded that I had three wheels in contact. There are parts that are very easy but there are parts that are just plan dangerous, no two ways about it. And to be honest, a truck.really doesn't have any business on that road. So, with that being said, a Bronco of any sort should never do it since it's foot print is wider than a Jeep.
