BRP Two 10in Sub Box Combo

I'm looking at adding two 10in subwoofers under the rear seat. I've contemplated buying BRP's full setup or piecing things together with a little bit higher output (kicker subs, amp, srq box). Piecing things together will be a little more expensive but may be louder?

I purchased their 3 10” version with the larger amp, I’m planning on installing it tomorrow. It’s gonna be a bit of an ass ache but i think i have a plan lol. I have to run the power on the passenger side because i have the 6MT and don’t have that grommet on the driver side firewall. So I’m going to have to bring the power in under the front passenger seat.

I did that and I did not think it was an issue. There is another rubber floor drain under the passenger seat, I cut a hole and ran cable through there. You could rtv the plug in the floor to secure it. I feel like that’s as good a grommet as anywhere else and easy to get to once you lift the seat. Can find it from underneath the truck and under the seat/carpet.

There is a youtuber called Jeep and Bass that literally runs his box over with his cherokee multiple times and it does no damage. lol

I currently have 2. 6.5" subs in the Gately .75' enclosure and its great! However, I may decide I want to use my full back seat at some time. Just on cost alone, I may step to the BRP and 3 sundown SD-4 10" subs. then eventually up to the Gately box and his Relentless subs.

Bring it in under the rear passenger carpet through the grommet there, will be easier and it's already under the carpet

I initially planned on going with the BRP two ten set up but was underwhelmed by the amount of airspace available for a pair of 10s. At a total volume of 1.40, this wasn't providing much to each sub. I instead went with the Foxbox single 10 box which had nearly the same volume of 1.30. This box has an inch more of mounting depth which allows for quite a few more speaker options. The final setup I went with provides way more bass than I need and I was able to maintain the drivers side spot that hold the door and hard top bolts as well. The box itself is quite a bit less expensive as well. The box is built like a tank!

I wanted to do the gatley box but the cost and the need to use a backseat spacer lift with the fact I have to use a car seat, I didn’t want to do it. Even though lifting the rear seat probably wouldn’t matter at all.

Ended up with the FOXBOX running my decade old JL 10” (10w1v2) sub 4ohm at 200rms of amp power. I will say the ported Box makes this sub sound noticeably louder than the sealed box i had it in. At some point I want to go to modern sub probably a kicker L7T 10 and feed it full power, but with how loud the antique setup i have in this box. If I go bigger I feel I will need to run aftermarket power to the rest of the speakers first or the sub will probably be overpoweringly loud. Not sure how much louder the Gatley box would be ported with the extra sub surface area it has would be.

In my last 2 vehicles Iv run 2 10” JLs in sealed truck boxes (Xtra cab Tacoma and mustang). The FoxBox is the first ported box I have ever owned and it sounds louder and feels louder in the chest than the 2 sealed subs do to me. I do notice what seem to be extra/prolonged vibrations after sharp hits, but my amp probably isn’t tuned right.

My understanding is that the rear seat rests on both the Fox and BRP boxes. Can anyone confirm?

Is this for real?!?!?! 1600 dollars for a box??? Holy smokes, if you’re spending that kind of money I’ll build you an identical box for a STEAL of just 1200 dollars, that way I can profit over a grand still. My god the prices people charge these days…

I'd recommend checking his Instagram and YouTube and se what engineering go's into his boxes. You get what you pay for.

It’s a box, I’ve been building boxes for years. 4th order, 6th order, transmission line, ported, sealed, you name it. I have all the calculations to tune to any Hz you want, it’s basic math. There is no engineering involved.

Well I had a chance to put this all together today. From start to finish it took me about 5 hours to install. This does not include the hour or so it took me to wire up the speakers in the box which I did a couple of days ago. The install was pretty straight forward. I watched the videos BRP and Robert put put on YouTube, downloaded the manuals for the amplifier and line converter, and got the wiring diagram for the 3 speakers at 1.34 ohms fro Rockford Fosgate. They have a speaker/amp calculator on their website that shows how to wire various combinations of speakers at different impedance, svc, dvc, amp wattage etc. The biggest pain in the ass was removing the passenger seat and the rear seat. I mounted the amp and converter to a sheet of plexiglass, then mounted that behind the rear seat. The reason I did it this way was because I wanted to put as few screws into the Jeep as possible, and I didn't want to lose the storage netting behind the rear seats in the event that I ever took the system out.

I started out by running the power wire from the engine compartment to underneath the passenger seat drain grommet. I went this route because I have the 6MT and the grommet on the driver side is not there due to the clutch. Then I tapped into the speaker wired using Posi-Taps. I highly recommend these because they are easy to use and easily reversible as they don't do any real damage to the factory speaker wires. Keep in mind to mark which set is the left speaker and which is the right. For the ground, since I was mounting everything on the passenger side, I used the screw from the jack which needs to be removed. (I ended up putting everything which was in my under seat storage into a tupperware in the bed of the truck since I have a tonneau cover).

The bass controller I just double sided taped next to my driver seat. I may change this location cause its not the most convenient. The LC2i is a pretty neat unit and has an option of only coming on when it senses a signal from the factory speaker wires. It then turns on. It also has a remote out which I wired to the amp so it will also turn the amp on.

The box itself is very heavy and covered in a bed liner type coating. It is extremely well made and sealed on every joint with caulk. The box fits nicely under the rear seat without touching the speakers or surrounds. After I wired everything up I turned on the radio to make sure everything worked. HOLY SMOKES. This thing hits hard! I still have a few final touches to do such as clean up some wiring and make some audio adjustments. But I must say that I am VERY happy with this purchase and it is so worth the money, especially when you compare what you are getting for your dollar vs. what else is out there. Some other options are only a single 8" or 10" speaker for the same or more money. And that's not even considering the amplifier this comes with, which is 1000 watts RMS. Actually, the bench test sheet from Rockford states an RMS output of 1500 watts!

They are dvc 2ohm speakers with one voice coil wired in parallel and with the second voice coil wired in series on itself.

the seat does rest slightly on my FoxBox
