Does the taillight housing taper from top to bottom for a reason? I like the design, but I think I still prefer the other tail lamp.

Yes , there is a awkward shape to the housing because of the bulge in the body on the side. Took me forever to get that figured out..... I don't like it either....

I figured it was for a reason. It’s not that noticeable. Anyways, this latest design with the other tail lamp gets my vote….for ease of off the shelf replacement.

If we are submitting redesigns :)

How about the design below with a single vertical strip for the marker. The space you allowed for the strip light originally (green arrow) would stay as a channel OR raised trim to give the unit some depth but without any light in it.

I'll do one up for you in a bit.

Right now I'm going to work on designing a lens / defuser to spread the led light evenly

I am still liking something like this. I adjusted a bit, widening the portions on the right and changing the lengths of the side wrapping. Maybe depressing the large gray area so the lights appear to be raised to break up so much bare space.

I am learning a lot about LEDs and coding them for animations.......

Let's just say, we are going to have sequentials, party animations, start up animations, shut off animations.... We're going to have it all......

Cant wait to see what you have coming. Also, if anyone is following this and is like, well, now I want to try some 3d printing, I see bambu just reduced the P1P by $100.

I've had mine for a few months so it doesn't hurt me so bad because I know when things get old they loose value.... But for someone who has had it a few days, if be upset :-(
