Building my own flush tail lights

I like the design too but would defeat the wrap I have on my tailgate and sides. I like the use of multi-functional LEDs and large.

Well it would definitely look better with a second side marker, which should be easy to add....

I really just want to see how good it meets the edges... Can't help but think they will warp over time. The side will be so far away from a mounting point

Not only do they look better and are truly a unique piece, but none of the others have a sequential function. That is going to just be really freaking cool. I know for some it's gimmicky and won't care about that function, but I think it's super cool.

Here I am about to unload this 4wheeler when I think, how are these taillights coming along? It'll be sweet to not have them poking out anymore.

I did take a little break from them. But last night I did get one side wired... What a nightmare that was... Kept blowing up led strips.... But I finally figured it all out and it works as it should... Didn't get a chance to install it on the gladiator last night for video though. I'll do it tonight. I don't know how I will be able to streamline the wiring process... It really is a nightmare. Maybe I should talk to a supplier... But I can only imagine how much it will cost for molds, and the creation of the final product.

I think a lot of you would enjoy the rugged ridge tail lights... You can easily install a second side light for people who like a symmetrical look...

But they do fit really well. But I don't like them better than my version 1. They are really thin.... I'm interested to see if they warp in time. The lights they use look really cheap...

So the LED strips are the cause of all the issues? Or is it getting the sequential to work that is the issue of blowing up LED strips?

I would be into just the full LED strip version and no sequential if that is the wiring nightmare.

If people don't want the sequential you can go the route of RR and make it a kit you put together.

No issues at all... It was just getting things to not back feed... I have it all solved and working.

The LEDs work off 5 volt... I was using the 5v output regulated voltage pin on the Arduino nano and that kept frying the LEDs... The nano can take up to 20v on its input voltage so I had it hooked up to 14.7v. For some reason the 5v regulated line would start outputting 10v killing the leds.... So now I have it where the Arduino nano doesn't get but 5v, so there will be no voltage spikes anymore.

It's just a PIA to wire up that's all... I'll put more thought into it and figure out a more streamline way to do it all...

I'll take video tonight with it installed...

I might need to tune the speed of the sequential a little but that will take 1 minute to do...

I ordered some glue for the lenses today.. I plan on by end of week having the working prototypes running on my gladiator
