I bought a gorgeous @BuiltRight bed plug cover in machined aluminum. Does anyone else have this, or a similar product? I cannot figure out how to install it.

It has four well nuts, which I can’t get to fit into the square openings. Should I drill them out? If the well nuts are supposed to sit behind the openings, well, that’s a paradox my fat fingers can’t solve.

Those look like rubber expansion nuts. I would bet you just push it through and keep pressure against the plate as you tighten each corner equally. Google expansion nut.

Yes, that’s what I meant by “well nut” - maybe I used the wrong term. Thanks for your reply! I can’t get the expansion nut through the square opening though.

Are you trying to push it through with the bolt in it? Have you contacted the manufacturer? They believe it so simple they don't even provide installation instructions.
